We both fell asleep without saying a word about our position. Me on Demon’s lap, his arms wrapped around me, mine arm clutching him to me. Demon’s shifted and his hand slipped down my back, waking us both.
“How are you feeling?” His voice was grumbly from sleep, and I got hot from just the sound. So damn stupid. I hope the biker groupies had room for one more.
“Better.” I moved my head and became captured in his bright blue eyes, heavy from sleep.
“Much. Better.” I licked my lips watching Demon as he followed the movement as if he was interested.
Was I fucking still sleeping? Stuck in some dream-like coma from alcohol poisoning?
Please don’t let me wake up.
“Demon.” It was just a whisper, but it was enough for him to brush his lips against mine.
I groaned, and it had nothing to do with my hangover. My hands plunged into his hair pulling us together. I plastered my chest to his. Demon let out a growly rumble that I felt all the way to my toes. As we kissed, Demon grasped my hips, lifting me up so I was straddling him. I ground my center into his erection, letting the shirt I was wearing ride up my thighs.
“Fuck, Angel.” Demon fisted my hair, yanking my head back exposing my neck. The tip of his tongue traveled up from my collarbone back to my mouth. His movements were harsh and demanding, and it was everything I’d ever dreamed about.
Seriously, please don’t wake me up.
The sound of a door closing downstairs broke us apart.
Birthday wishes didn’t seem to be as potent as they were when I was a kid. Hell, it’d be nice to wish for Demon and get him, just like those rollerblades I had to have when I was ten.
“Get dressed and meet me down stair.” Demon picked me up and plopped me down on the bed beside him. I watched as he adjusted himself before walking toward the door.
“Little girl, that was a mistake. You know that right? I was tired, and horny. It meant nothing.”
My heart stuttered as I watched him disappear behind his bedroom door. Anger and humiliation surged through me. It was the second time we’d kissed, and both times, he acted like it wasn’t a big deal. Like it was a mistake. How could I be so stupid for throwing myself at him, again?
Why can’t I learn from my mistakes?
I got dressed quickly, storming down the stairs ready to give him a piece of my mind. Thankfully, I stopped to collect myself before I started screaming. I knew it was from embarrassment and not anger, but I couldn’t convince myself to just walk away. Then I noticed my dad was next to Demon. Both of them had a steaming mug of coffee in their scarred hands.
“Hey, baby. You don’t look too bad.” He smiled his dad smile from under his grizzly beard.
“Then I’m a better actor than I thought. Maybe I should change my major from nursing to acting.”
My dad laughed. Demon ignored me as I ignored him, or tried to.
“Hope she wasn’t too much trouble.” My dad slapped Demon on the back as he got up.
“Nope, I’m used to the brat hanging around. I put her to bed when she got too drunk and made sure she didn’t puke all over my club.”
Fuck you, formed on my tongue. It rolled around buttery and hot, ready to sear him with its intensity. I swallowed it, walking over to my dad and finishing the rest of his coffee.
The next time I saw Demon I would be a different girl. I wouldn’t let him get to me again. I’d show him that our kiss hadn’t changed me in any way. We both could pretend it never happened.
I was going back to college and moving on to a Demon free life. You could say, I was purging my Demon’s once and for all.
