“I know. I just…”

“What?”

I’ve been alone for too long. Your presence makes me feel things I shouldn’t, Nylune thought. “Never mind. Let’s eat,” he said, picking up his plate on the table. Adew looked at him but said nothing. They ate in silence.

“Mmmmm,” Adew said a while later as he took a sip of his drink. “It’s delicious.”

“Yes, it is. It's my favourite,” Nylune said. “I was hooked the second I tasted it.”

“You have good taste. I like your garden too. It’s peaceful and beautiful. No wonder Calla found his way here.”

Nylune’s eyes fell on the okie sleeping a few paces from them. He partly resented the animal for bringing him so much trouble, and he was also glad, because he wouldn’t have met an alpha like Adew Pax. “I’m glad you both like it. I worked hard on it.”

“It’s beautiful.” Adew glanced at him, causing his stomach to flutter.

Oh shit. Nylune cleared his throat. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. Now tell me about that weird looking thing over there.” He pointed to his Queen of the night.

Nylune laughed. “It’s a plant.”

“I can see that. But isn’t it strange? I’ve never seen anything like it.”

“That’s because it’s not from here.” Nylune got to his feet and walked to it. Adew followed him there. “I have a few exotic plants from other planets. The Queen of the night is my favourite.”

“And here I thought you had good taste. This is the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen.”

“Take that back,” he slapped his shoulder. “Do you know how much care I put into this plant?”

“No. But you shouldn’t have. Its hideous.”

“Stop saying that.” Nylune swatted at him. Adew stepped back. Nylune chased the alpha around the garden. He moved slowly, but he still managed to stay out of reach. “Stand still.”

Adew laughed. His laughter was contagious. Nylune couldn’t help but laugh too as he chased him. He felt giddy inside. And for the first time in a long time, he was happy. Adew suddenly stopped and Nylune crushed into him. The alpha’s arms came around him. His lips grazed his neck. Nylune moaned. They both froze.

“What?” Adew asked.

“Nothing,” Nylune said, pulling away. “We should go back inside it’s late.”

Nylune turned and rushed into the house.

“He’s running again.” He heard Adew say. What did he want him to do? Stand there and cling to him because it felt good to be in his arms.

No. This was an experiment. Adew Pax wasn’t his alpha. He would be a fool to give into his feelings.

Nylune made his way to the cooking station and started to clean up. Adew walked in a second later with their plates.

Damn, he forgot about those. Nylune internally cringed as he took them from him. "Thanks.”

“No problem,” Adew said. He helped him clean up. When they were done, they made their way upstairs, and went their separate ways.

Nylune’s fourth heat hit as soon as he entered his room. He leaned his head against his bedroom door as his heat warmed his back and thickened his cock.

“Don’t go to him,” he begged himself.
