Hym took his commander’s tense shoulder. Fuck. He was going to rip him a new one. But he didn’t care.
He wasn’t letting his mate go. Ever.
They stopped as Deltta, Maxus and Tarymn walked towards them, anger coming off the Alpha King in waves.
“Shit,” Makar groaned. “This is going to be a long day.”

Jamue
Hym’s pillow tugged under his chin, Jamue stared at the door sleepily.
He said he’d be here soon. He’d been waiting for him for hours.
Where was he?
Jamue whined, turning away from the door. He yawned, fighting the alluring pull of sleep. He wanted to be awake when he arrived, but he was slowly losing the battle.
His eyes drooped closed.
He sighed, bringing Hym’s pillow to his nose. Toe-curling pleasure filled him as his mate’s scent filled his lungs.
“Hym,” he moaned.
He should hurry up and come back so they could talk and then move on to other things. He wanted to feel his mate inside him again. Though he didn’t remember their first time together, he could imagine ...
Jamue closed his eyes, burying his face into the pillow. When he lifted his head again, light streamed through the window.
Fuck, he fell asleep.
Jamue turned to Hym’s side of the bed. He wasn’t back yet.
Did something happen to Mac’s brother?
Jamue quickly sat up and reached for his connector on the bedside table. Before he could press Mac’s code, there was a frantic knock at the door.
“Jamue? Are you in there?”
Luci?
Jamue rushed to the door and opened it.
“Luci? What’s wrong?”
The omega snatched his arm, his eyes full of rage.
“I told you I'd kill you if you hurt him, didn’t I?” He snarled before sending his other hand flying.
Jamue staggered back, pain exploding across his face.
“Luci,” Ludiin gripped his brother’s arm as the omega cocked his hand to slap him again. “Please stop. Jamue wouldn’t do what they said. Let him explain.”
“They wouldn’t have brought an officer from the council if it wasn’t true, stupid.”
His hand pressed to his throbbing cheek, Jamue stared at them. What was going on?
