“You really didn’t know?” Makar asked. The omega shrugged, pissing him off.

Hym growled.

Makar looked over his shoulder at him and mouthed: you’re not helping.

Hym rolled his eyes and walked to the table. He leaned over it, letting his scent fill the room. Both omegas winced.

“Hym,” Makar groaned.

“We don’t have time for this,” he said, staring the omega down. “The people you helped are trying to kill the Alpha King, your alpha-in-law. They might succeed since we have nothing.”

Mac gasped, turning to his brother. “Rhine?”

The omega paled.

“I…I didn’t know. I…they paid me to hack their system.”

“They paid you.” Hym narrowed his eyes at him. “What do you mean?”

“I hacked their system for fun a few months ago and bragged about it to a few friends I chat with on pelican.”

“Pelican?” Hym turned to Roc. “What the fuck is that?”

“It’s a site where wannabe criminals brag about their accomplishments,” Roc said dryly. “I’ve been monitoring them.”

Makar groaned. “And you missed this?”

“I guess their chat group wasn’t big enough for me to notice them,” Roc sighed. “Sorry, Makar, I should have noticed them.”

“It's fine. There’s only one of you. You’re bound to miss something.”

“Continue,” Hym said impatiently.

“They contacted me weeks ago and asked me to hack into their system again. They paid me a lot of credit. I can show you.”

“Shit,” Hym shoved away from the table. “They used him knowing he was expendable. At this rate, we won’t find them.”

“I can find them,” he declared.

A tense silence ensued as they stared at the omega.

“You can?” Roc asked.

“That’s how I found you.” The omega looked over at Roc.

Roc bristled. “You didn’t find me.”

“I didn’t?”

“I was the one who found you, lured you in,” Roc shouted.

“That’s what you think.”

“Enough,” Hym snapped. He took a deep calming breath. “We don’t have time for this. We need to find who is behind this before they try again.”

“He’s right,” Makar shoved to his feet. “Roc work with him and find them. Hym, let’s talk.”

Hym silently groaned and followed him out of the room. He had to go to his mate. But he knew Makar wasn’t going to go for that.
