Jamue listened to him talk to Deltta. He sounded calmer now that he was speaking to his alpha, making him jealous.
He thought of Hym, and the yearning from last night rose within him.
They drifted to the outer edge of the capital, coming to a restricted area with a huge fence surrounding large buildings in the distance.
Security looked tight.
“Is this the right address?” Jamue asked nervously.
“Yes. That’s the address they gave my mom and Dhean. My brother is in there somewhere,” Mac said.
They drifted into an underground tunnel and stopped in a designated area where a red beam slid over the pod, scanning it.
"State the reason for your visit," an automated voice said.
“I’m here to see my brother. You fucking detained him,” he said in a strained voice. “I want to see him, please.”
An airway appeared, and Yarr drifted forward into a parking dome. Mac jumped out and ran towards large doors.
Oh shit.
“Mac, wait.” Jamue ran after him.
He entered the building, coming to a skidding stop at the sight of Mac facing off with a large and scary alpha in the middle of a hallway.
The alpha’s eyes drifted to him, and went wide before he looked behind him, and that’s when Jamue saw Hym.
What was he doing here?
A giddy feeling squeezed his insides.
It took Jamue a minute to realize that Hym hadn’t responded to him. He stood there, staring at him…
Was that horror in his eyes?
“What? Jamue?” He gasped out.
Jamue resisted the urge to cover his face and forced himself to remain still. He’d never shown this side of himself to any alpha. He wasn't going to hide anymore.
But Hym and the other alpha looked at him like he was a freak.
Tears filled his eyes.
“I want to see my brother. Please, take me to him,” Mac said, unaware of the tension. He stepped in front of the alpha, blocking his line of vision.
“Yes, of course. Follow me,” the alpha said.
He turned and walked down the hallway, gripping Hym’s arm to drag him along.
“Let’s go,” Jamue said, taking Mac’s hand as they followed them down the hallway. The alpha stopped abruptly and opened a door.
“Roc, please take them to our guest,” he said, “excuse us.” He walked away, taking Hym with him.
Jamue stared after them, heart squeezing tight.
“This way, please,” Roc said, guiding them down another hallway.
“Is he alright?” Mac asked worriedly. “Why did you detain him?”
