Deltta silently groaned, wishing he could take his words back.

Yarr gave him a disapproving look, then glanced away.

That’s not what he wanted to say. He’d planned a whole speech, and he was going to say it in the sweetest voice, but all that flew out the window the second he saw him and smelled his enticing scent.

The beta returned to their table with their drinks.

Mac was not coming back, was he?

Dammit.

The beta placed their drinks on the table.

“He created the drinks, especially for you. Enjoy.”

Deltta picked up his drink and took a sip. He closed his eyes as different tastes exploded on his tongue. He could taste the distinctive flavor of his spirit, Sweet Core.

He knew exactly what he wanted, he thought, his heart skipping a beat.

“Hmmm, this is delicious,” Yarr said. “He’s really good.”

“Yes, he is,” Deltta said proudly. “When we’re done here, I need you to take me somewhere.”

Yarr nodded.

***

“He’s on the second floor,” Yarr said, staring up at the building. “I’ll wait for you here.”

Deltta nodded and made his way up to the second floor. He knocked on the only door on the floor and waited for a few minutes before the door was pulled open.

Jamue's mouth fell open in shock when he saw him. Recovering, he stepped out of his way.

“He’s in the bedroom, I’ll go call him.”

“No. I’ll go.”

Deltta stepped inside the room just as Mac walked out of the washroom. Deltta swallowed hard as desire burned through his veins. He looked so hot in his sleeping pants and matching top.

Focus, he told himself.

But his eyes landed on the claiming mark on the side of his neck. He’d removed the concealing strip. Because of those strips, no one knew he was a claimed omega - that he belonged to him.

A possessive feeling filled him. Clenching his hands into fists, Deltta pushed the feeling down. He was here to talk.

“We need to talk, Mac.” He bridged the gap between them, the need to get close to him overwhelming. “I've waited long enough for you to think about my proposal. Please tell me you’ll bond with me.”

“I…” he shook his head. “Why do you want to bond with me? I’m not a typical omega. You’re the alpha king; you can have the most beautiful and amazing omega out there.”

“I thought we were done talking about that.”

“How can we be done when it's who I am?” His voice wobbled.

The sound ripped Deltta’s heart to shreds. Was he that blind he couldn’t see himself? He was beautiful, beyond amazing.

“Look at me Deltta. Really look.”

“I am looking at you, Mac. But you don’t think I see you because I don’t see you through your eyes or how other people see you.” Deltta rubbed the back of his neck, frustrated. “I don’t understand what changed. You enjoyed my body, and I enjoyed yours, I touched you, and you touched me. I’ve seen every inch of your body, and I loved it. What the fuck changed?”
