Yes, he did.
It was either that or beg him to accept him as his alpha. And he didn’t want to pressure him into a bond. Deltta couldn’t bear the thought of losing him. He was the best thing that’s ever happened to him…by accident.
“Please make sure he gets to Djohn’s house safely,” Deltta said.
“You’re not going after him,” Yarr asked.
He wanted to but...
“Not yet. I’m not in the right mind to talk to him. I might say something I’ll regret because I don’t understand what happened.”
“I’ll bring your food then.” Yarr walked out of the room, leaving him alone.
Deltta managed to stay away from Mac for a few hours. By midday, he was tired of trying to figure out what happened.
They needed to talk.
He wanted Mac to tell him how he felt about him.
“Tell me where he is, Griean.”
Deltta looked around the house. There was no sign Mac was there. He returned his eyes to the omega in front of him. Griean shook his head as he gave him a scathing look.
“What did you do to him? He was crying when I picked him up.”
“I didn’t do anything. Did he tell you what happened?”
“Of course not. He wouldn’t tell me anything.”
“And you just assumed I was the one in the wrong. I thought we were friends.”
“My brother comes first. I trusted you with him, Deltta.” Griean sighed. “I thought you’d see beyond his…”
“Don’t fucking say it. I’ve had enough of that for one day. Tell me where he is. We need to talk.”
Griean’s face softened. “He’s at the most important meeting of his life. You can’t go there. He’s already distracted. I’ll tell him you came. And he’ll connect with you. For now, give him room to take care of his business. He was so nervous when he left. I hope everything goes well for him.”
Right. He came to the capital to present his samples.
Fuck. Deltta rubbed his face feeling like a selfish fool. He made everything about him. He didn’t even ask him about his presentation or his samples.
Shit…shit…shit…
No wonder he believed his feelings were fake. He never showed him he cared about him. From the moment they met, everything had been about him – his needs and wants. The only time he took care of him was during his heat, but even then, it was about him because he loved being with Mac. He just never told him how much he loved it… how much he loved him.
Deltta hissed as it hit him.
He loved him.
He blinked rapidly, tears filling his eyes.
“Please tell him I was here,” Deltta said, walking to the door, heart pounding in his chest. He’d fallen in love without even knowing. He took a deep breath, suddenly breathless.
He got in his pod and drifted back home. When he arrived, he made his way to his office. He silently groaned when he found Maxus there.
He wanted to be alone. He could go to his bedroom, but everything that happened this morning was still fresh. He walked to his recliner and sat down.
“Are you alright?” his brother asked.
