“You did?” She looked one way then the other.

“Yeah. It’s in the fridge.”

“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

Myome pushed up off my lap and swiftly walked toward the fridge. She collected her chai and took a long sip. She hummed in contentment and nodded.

“I know that shit ain’t that good.”

“It’s better.” She smiled. “You got me Brewed Bean breakfast too? You’re heaven sent.” Myome walked over to the box of pastries on the far counter and flipped it open. “When did you even put this order in to get these before they sold out?”

“I was there damn near when they opened.”

“You left?” She grabbed two croissants and walked back to the table.

“Myome, I wrote and recorded a whole fucking song, got you chai and breakfast, got myself a smoothie, and cleared out my emails.”

She whistled as she got comfortable on her chair, lifting one of her feet onto it.

“What time did you get up?”

“Around two.”

“Jesus.” She whistled.

I chuckled at how shocked she looked while she pulled one of her croissants apart and shook her head in amazement.

“Chandler got a gig for us too,” I announced.

“For us?” Myome repeated.

“Our first podcast interview as a couple.”

“When?”

“Today. She already got clearance from Allison for you to miss rehearsal to get this done.”

“Shit. Okay.” Myome took another bite of her croissant then hopped down. “I’ll eat this and start my makeup and be done in no time. I promise.”

“I ain’t rushing you,” I said simply.

“Right.” Myome grabbed her tea and damn near bolted out of the room.

I watched her go then went back to my emails. I got hundreds a day and had Chandler go through a lot of them, but anything requesting beats or collaboration in some way went through my hands and mine alone. Branding, interviews, and all that other shit was at Chandler’s discretion though.

When I got bored of deleting and responding to emails, I went in search of Myome. I found her sitting on the floor in her bedroom in front of the floor length mirror attached to her closet door, makeup surrounding her. She had headphones in, singing quietly. I watched her for a little then headed back to the living room, collapsed into her recliner, and leaned back. I was starting to feel the effects of starting my day early so I closed my eyes and decided to get a quick nap in.

When I woke up, it was to Myome tapping me lightly. She had on a full face of makeup and her hair was straightened and tucked behind her ears.

“I’m ready.” She did a little spin to show off the tight, light blue jeans and lil black shirt she wore.

“Give me five and I’ll be ready.” I climbed up. “You look good, baby,” I added.

“Thank you.”

I went to the bathroom to piss and brush my teeth again then headed to the front where Myome waited for me, sitting on the couch and tapping away on her phone.

“Can we take my car?” Myome asked.
