I lifted an eyebrow.

“You’re not about to drive me around the city, Yo.”

“You can drive, but I need gas in my car. So I just figured?—”

I cut her off. “We can take it.”

“Okay. Great.”

I yanked the front door open and Myome tossed her car keys to me while we walked toward it.

I drove us to the nearest gas station and left Myome in the car while I hopped out to pump gas. I watched the “see cashier” message pop up and exhaled but leaned down to address Myome through the cracked window.

“You want something from inside?”

“Gum, please.”

“I got you and ay, roll this window up. We need to get yo’ shit tinted a lil darker.”

“Nothing is wrong with my tint.”

“Yeah. A’ight.”

I didn’t bother arguing my case because I’d have her windows tinted ASAP, no matter what she said.

I headed into the gas station, grabbed a water bottle and gum for Myome, then made my way to the cash register.

“Let me get this and forty on pump two,” I said.

“Okay. Sure.”

I looked around at the random knickknacks near the checkout and grabbed a piece of candy and tossed that on the counter too. Then, my eyes landed on a small jar to my left filled with silicone rings in different sizes and colors. I plucked up a few black ones and tried them on. When I found one that fit, I tossed it onto the counter.

“That too.”

I paid with my card and headed back out to the whip. I tossed Myome’s gum to her and slipped the little ring I’d purchased on my finger while I pumped the gas.

The drive out to the studio where our interview was being held was short. Chandler and Allison stood in front of thebuilding waiting for us when we got there. We both hugged Chan and I dapped Allison.

“What’s up?”

“Are you guys ready?” Allison asked.

“I stay ready,” I said at the same time Myome responded, “As ready as I’m going to be.”

“Don’t lie much. It’s hard to keep up with them, so if you’re going to lie, make sure the truth is just around the corner,” Chandler said simply. “So instead of saying you were too high to remember getting married, you can say you blacked out. It sounds more like you were so excited you were on autopilot. Things like that.”

“Okay,” Myome agreed.

“There’s nothing to worry about,” Allison assured her. “And if you don’t know the answer, let Drix take it. Yeah?” She looked over at me.

“Yeah.” I nodded once.

I wasn’t media trained and really didn’t give a fuck about saying the wrong shit. I was going to make my money behind the scenes regardless and what people I didn’t know said about me on social media didn't move me. I was down to take the heat for me and Myome if needed.

“Alright.” Allison clapped her hands. “Let’s do this.”

I yanked the door to the building open and gestured for the women to head inside first.
