Chloe choked on a laugh while Daniela and Hazel snickered. “I’m hoping he’ll know where to put it. And besides, if a man had feelings for me, he wouldn’t care how inexperienced I am.”

“Yes, true, but how much more fun will you have if you find the man of your dreams and know what you’re doing? There won’t be any of that awkward stage. It takes time and practice to have an amazing orgasm. And you don’t strike me as the kind of person to self-satisfy.”

Chloe stared at Blair.

“She means masturbate,” Hazel supplied.

Chloe continued to stare.

“Do you masturbate?” Daniela wanted to know.

“I am not answering that!” Her friends didn’t need to know that she had a bedside table drawer full of sexual aids. That was between her and her supplier.

“Fine,” Blair said with a wave of her hand. “But believe you me, you can’t rely on a man to know how to press your buttons. You’ll have to guide him. Unless he’s extremely skilled, but that’s hard to find.”

Chloe hated to admit it, but Blair had a point.

The waitress arrived with their drinks and placed them on the table stopping any more talk of orgasms. The tray of shots came in glasses that glowed in bright blue and yellow. They each picked one up and raised them in the air.

Daniela lifted her glass. “To being thirty.”

“To being thirty and finally having sex,” Blair toasted.

“To being thirty and learning to havegreatsex,” Hazel said with a grin.

Chloe stared at her friends and couldn’t help the smirk that spread across her face. Pointing a finger at Blair, she said, “If I toast to that, it doesn’t mean I’m picking up some random guy tonight.”

“We’ll see how the night goes.” Blair smirked and shot back her drink, pulling a face and shimmying her shoulders as she banged the glass on the table.

“To trying new things.” Hazel downed her shot too and copied Blair’s facial expressions and shimmy.

“To having fun.” Daniela didn’t do the shimmy, but she was definitely smirking just as broadly as the other two.

Sighing, Chloe picked up her glass and lifted it in the air. “To losing my virginity.”

Chapter Two

TheodoreCampbellsatata table overlooking the crowded dance floor of his nightclub with his brother Blake and best friend Logan. All throughout the club people seemed to be celebrating: engagements, weddings, birth dates. Theo and his friends were celebrating a milestone too: his finalized divorce. Although Theo’s friends acted jovial, a tightness pressed into his chest. Not because he still loved his ex-wife, Layla, but because he’d failed her in their marriage. Failure was a bitter pill to swallow.

Blake poured bourbon into the glasses and passed them to Theo and Logan. “To being officially single again.” He tilted his tumbler in Theo’s direction before knocking it back in one swallow.

Theo grunted.

Logan frowned at his friend. “To getting laid whenever you damn well want without any consequences.” He too guzzled his drink down.

Theo stifled the urge to roll his eyes. “That’s what you want. I’ve been getting laid without consequence since Layla and I separated.” At first, a few hours a night fucking nameless women had helped him forget about his failed marriage. But all too soon, Theo had grown tired of multiple hookups. They didn’t change anything. Once the euphoria of the moment was over, he still felt like shit.

“Well, it’s going to be a long time before I commit to one woman. Man, that shit’s exhausting,” Logan said while pouring more bourbon in his glass.

“So you’re swearing off women?” Blake asked, shooting a wink at Theo.

“I didn’t say that.” Logan grinned. “I said, no morerelationships. I’ll take all the women I can get. In fact, I’ve spotted a few tonight I’d be happy to take home.”

Theo and Blake chuckled. That was Logan, always looking for the next bit of ass.

“Speaking of women. What’s your plan now that you’re free? Are you ready for another commitment?” Blake asked Theo.

“Same as it’s been since I split from Layla.” Theo inwardly shuddered at the thought of remarrying; he’d never put another woman through the pain he’d put Layla through. It had been too much. Too painful. Better to be like Logan, a committed bachelor.
