The security alarm pierced the silence, the blasts of noise heightening Carrera’s already-alert senses. Undeterred, the men rushed inside. With their weapons drawn, they made their way down a pitch-black hallway, then into a large room filled with sofas and mattresses strewn across the floor.

Three men had been sleeping on them. Now, they were sitting up, their eyes wide with surprise. One reached for his weapon.

Carrera fired his Glock.

POP! POP! POP!

The bullets pierced their skulls between their eyes.

Teddy vanished around the corner in search of the electrical breaker, Luciano doing a three-sixty to keep his brother safe.

The alarm stopped.

“Who’s there?” A man yelled down the basement stairs.

The basement lights came on blinding Carrera. He flipped up his goggles and moved against a wall, his Glock at the ready.

Someone whispered before a stampede of footsteps pounded the stairs.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The scumbags were shooting their way into the room.

C’mon, Teddy. Find the breaker.

As the first guy rounded the corner, the room went black. Carrera flipped down the goggles, eyed the men. Neither were Glazer, but he recognized them both.

POP! POP!

He hit the first between the eyes, shot the second on his forehead. Both men went down, but the second one raised his arm to fire his weapon. Carrera fired—POP! POP!—hitting him twice in the chest.

“Fuck, it’s a bloodbath,” he bit out.

His cousins appeared at his side.

“Glazer’s upstairs,” Luciano said.

On the main level, they found the front door wide open. A car flew out of the driveway and sped away.

“Fuck,” Teddy bit out.

In seconds, they cleared the first floor, bolted toward the stairs.

A woman’s scream pieced the night.

“You come up here, she’s dead.” A thug stood at the top, his elbow locked around a woman’s neck while he pointed a large hunting knife at her chest.

A man with a flashlight appeared next to him, temporarily blinding Carrera and his cousins.

They flipped up their goggles.

“Three, two—” Carrera whispered.

POP! POP! POP! POP! POP! POP! POP!

Luciano pumped flashlight guy with bullets. Teddy hit the man with the hunting knife in the hand. The second he jerked his hand away, Carrera unleashed a torrent of bullets into him.
