“She’s back from nursing school, but the hospital she was hired at won’t have a position for her for a month or two. So, she got a job at a bar downtown. Tonight’s her first night.”

“How did I not know any of this?” Satan was my second for fuck’s sake. How did all my men know about Angel’s triumphant return, and I was in the goddamn dark? The shitty thing was I couldn’t say a thing.

“Satan said she didn’t want you to know about it.” Rukus’ back was still toward me.

“And why the hell not?”

Rukus shrugged, “Said she got a new man and wanted to keep him away from the club. She didn’t want to scare him away.” His leather moved as he continued to clean the bar and ignore me.

“Hell, she was practically my shadow, and now she doesn’t want me to know she’s back in town. Why the hell is she acting this way?”

“That’s something you’re going to have to ask Angel.”

Damn straight. She fucking tortured me walking around like sin in boots. She threw herself at me, knowing her dad would kill me if I dared to touch her. Hell, I tried to get her to see she was too good for me and this life. And she wanted to keep secrets now.

“What bar is she working at?”

Rukus smiled as if he knew it was coming. “She’s at Midnight Moon.” Fucking old man decided to become observant now.

I knocked my knuckles on the bar, pushing off the stool. I was on my bike before I could think about what a bad idea it was to go see Angel. When it came to Angel, she drove me to bad decisions. I pulled into the parking lot, my jaw clenched when I saw all the bikes parked in the lot.

Traitors.

I let the door slam into the side of the wall when I pushed through it. I saw all my cuts huddled around the end of the bar, smiling like the fucking idiots they were. They were all pushing each other and smirking at something on the other side of the bar.

Wonder what the hell that could be?

As I headed over to them, I cracked my knuckles, not being quiet at all. I needed one tiny excuse to swing at any of them. When they noticed me, they all sat up straighter. Guilt coloring their stupid ass faces. I didn’t even attempt to wipe the pissed off look from my face.

“Hey, boss.” Rhodie smiled at me. His eyes squinted, waiting to see my reaction.

I saw them all glance across the bar, their faces transforming from guilt to worry. My stomach churned knowing I was not going to like what I was about to see. Sure enough, I went from pissed off to furious. Angel was at the end of the bar, dealing with a guy who from the looks of it could not accept no for an answer.

“Boss, you almost missed the show,” Rhodie said, doubt on his face. The others nodded behind him all of them glancing around as if noting different escape routes.

I noticed Donald, the stupid prospect, rubbing his hands together, ready for a fight. Yep, the little shit needed to go. I’d warned the crew not to cause any trouble for the next couple of weeks until the new weed shop permits came through. His face told me he still wasn’t listening to me.

Little fucker.

“Were none of you going over there to fix that?” I pointed to where Angel was. Her cheek was flickering from clenching her teeth as she listened to whatever the asshole was saying to her.

They all shifted in their stools looking more and more uncomfortable, except for numb-nuts Donald. Still none of them moved from where they were.

“We’ve taught her well, boss. She’s got it handled, besides you told us to stay out of trouble.”

I scoffed, as I moved to rescue Angel. I was going to take all their cuts away first thing tomorrow morning. I pushed that aside, ready to deal with the current situation. Even more pissed off, since I might end up killing the sorry fucker who decided to mess with Angel.

I wasn’t in the mood to go to jail.

Before I could take two steps though, I stopped in my tracks. Some of the anger faded away. My crew snickered behind me. The guy messing with Angel looked like he was seconds away from crying. His friends around him were either laughing or cringing.

Angel’s hands were on her hips, her breasts pushed out with every frustrated breath she took. She was magnificent. I shouldn’t have come. This was a dumb idea.

The guys no longer fearing my anger were howling with laughter as Angel continued to give the dumbass a heated talking down. When he left, with his tail tucked between his legs, the laughter got louder.

A man walked out from the back room, a scowl on his face as he surveyed my guys making a scene. “Angel,” he snapped at her.

Wrong fucking move, asshole. Looked like jail it was for me tonight.
