“I’m not going down there.” Donald got up, but the cop had him against my car and handcuffed before he could take a step.

“Why don’t you two get out of here? I’ll take care of him.”

I thought it was odd that an officer was letting us go, especially when Curtis shot the person he apprehended, but I didn’t protest. Curtis had the same idea and went to his bike holstering his gun. I grabbed my gun, and got in my car not bothering to tie up my arm in case the officer changed his mind. Curtis and I drove the set speed limit all the way back to the club.

“I’m really sorry for not being there right away, Angel.” Curtis looked nervous as we walked to the club entrance. I didn’t blame him. Demon had put him on babysitting duty, and I ended up getting slapped and cut with a knife. Demon was not going to be happy.

“I’ll try to talk him down for you.”

“Thanks, that’s the last time I stop to take a shit when Demon puts me on an assignment.”

I shook my head as we entered, braced for the wrath of Demon. I tried to clean up in my car before walking in, but my shirt was ruined, and my arm still had blood trickling down it.

“What the fuck happened?” Boomed through the club when we walked in, except it was from my dad, and not Demon as I expected.

“I had a run in with the new motorcycle gang.” I shrugged and regretted it as soon as I did it.

“I’m going to fucking kill them. Who the fuck was it?” My dad roared coming over to me to check out my wounds. “Come on, let’s go to Demon’s apartment so I can fix you up, and you can tell me what the hell happened.” I went with my dad, everyone at the club watching us. “And you don’t go anywhere, I have some questions for you,” My dad said as we passed Curtis. I gave him an apologetic smile knowing he was going to get his ass reamed. I bet he didn’t shit until he was home for the rest of his life.

In Demon’s apartment I looked around the living room surprised he hadn’t found me yet. “Where’s Demon?”

“He got arrested. He kicked Donald’s ass for telling me that the two of you were fooling around, and the dumbass filed charges on him.”

“He’s in jail? I need to bail him out, and Donald just happens to be down there too.” I whirled around ready to find Donald, and finish what Demon and Curtis started.

“You’ll do no such thing. You’ll sit down and let your old man fix you up, and you’ll tell me everything that happened. When Demon comes back we can fix this thing.” My dad gave me a stern look he hadn’t used since I was a little girl.

I sat down on the couch, remembering stitching up Demon only the night before.

“Wow, you’re really good at that. You should’ve been a nurse.” I eyed my dad’s handiwork he did on the gash on my arm. It was now neatly stitched and cleaned.

While my dad was taking care of me, I told him about me and Demon, leaving out most of what happened. Dad didn’t need to hear any of that. I also told him what Donald said to me before Curtis showed up, and what happened with the cop.

“The cop just let you go?” he asked, walking to the kitchen to wash his hands.

“He did. Curtis and I both got out of there before he changed his mind.”

“Smart girl.”

“I am a smart girl.”

My dad cleared his throat probably realizing where this was going. He stayed in the kitchen, but I knew he was listening. “I know you are.”

“I love him.”

He grunted. “I know. And he loves you. There would be no other reason for him to tell me and let me kick his ass.”

“Did you hurt him?”

My dad chuckled. “He’ll live. Are you sure this is what you want? I never wanted you to be a part of this.”

“There was never a choice. I love him. I always have, and now that he feels the same, I’m not letting him go.”

“Angel.” Demon exploded into his apartment. His eyes were wild when he saw me. He ran over and kissed me hard on the lips. I winced when he touched my sore cheek.

He pulled back, seeing the bruises on my face. “I’m so sorry little girl. I thought having Curtis would’ve been enough. Are you okay?” He searched my face some more, and then moved to my body. His whole demeanor froze when he saw my newly bandaged arm.

“Who did this?”
