“Because, you idiot, you called them forward and they are standing in front of me. The other one has a weird sort of smirk on his face, and oh my g… he has fire in his hand, he’s playing with a ball of fire!” Now, that is something I’ve not seen before. I can honestly say they never normally have anything on their person. “BONO!” I shout. I’m feeling a little panicked because how has this one got fire and can he do anything with it? I don’t know and I’m not sure I want to know, but you can bet your life I need to know!
“You have Tank and Pyro. I am not surprised Pyro has fire because that’s how he got his name. You know, his nickname, or road name, as we call it. Fuck, Pres is gonna be impressed that you have Tank and Pyro here.”
I’m gaping at Finger as though he has lost his ever-loving mind. “You are all batshit crazy. You think I’m nuts because I see these assholes, but you want them here!” I jump to my feet now and storm out of the office. I’m out of the damn clubhouse and looking around for my truck and hope to goodness the keys are in it.
Bolting to the truck parked at the side of the clubhouse I pull open the door but see no keys. Damn, this is all I need. Turning, I see Tracker and Cap leaning against the wall. Tracker’s smoking a cigar and Cap is smirking at my dilemma. Well, they can all go to hell.
I look at the front gate, that is open, and I take off. I’m not a poor runner, not the best but better than some. I tuck my chin down, pump my arms, and go for it. I hear Cap shouting to the prospect on the gate to close it, but I’m out before it fully snaps shut.
I don’t wait to look around for any followers. I keep running, monitor my breathing, in, out, in, out, and when I hear a vehicle approaching from behind, I sprint to the right and into the field.
Five minutes pass and I’m running out of steam. My breathing is labored, and my legs hurt. I don’t think I’m as fit as I first thought.
*Stop running, Cilla. You know you are meant to be at the clubhouse, staying safe*
“Bono, you are an ass,” I keep running, although it is more of a slow jog at this point. I notice a road to my left so veer that way. Maybe I can flag down a vehicle and get a lift to my house.
As I reach the road the two assholes manifest alongside Bono, and they are freaking grinning at me. “Go away and pester someone else,” I snap. Nothing, not a vehicle in sight. That is my luck. I aim in the direction I think the town is in, and start what I know is going to be a long walk.
*Let me introduce myself. My name is Tank and I’m here to help my brothers. You know they need help and you are the only one who can do that*
“Well, Tank. Let me tell you I have a life I want to actually live, you know, on my own terms.” Wow, the asshole is nodding at me as though he is seriously considering what I’m saying. The other one is still playing with the fireball. “Put that fire away now, or I’m not speaking to either of you.”
Tank leans over and says something to who I know is Pyro, and the fire is extinguished. I earn myself a scowl from Pyro, but you know I don’t care.
*You need to go back and help them, Cilla*
Bono stands in front of me to stop me walking, but you know I’m so annoyed that I walk right through him.
*Oh, that’s just nasty walking through you like that, Bono*Tank comments, but I ignore him and keep walking.
I hear a vehicle approaching from behind, and it’s not one I recognize, so I stop walking and start flagging it down. When I hear Bono chuckling, I study the way he’s looking at me. That, however, has me wasting time on what should have been my next escape.
The vehicle that looks like any ordinary delivery van stops. When the passenger door opens, I’m nonplussed for a moment when one of the prospects steps out and towards me. I waste the seconds that I need by gawking at him, and turn to run, but he has me before I can get away. He is gentle as he wraps his arms around me, holding my arms at my sides. Lifting me off my feet, he walks with me to the back of the van, and the back doors open. Finger! Looking damn pleased with himself. “Come on, Cilla. It’s time to get back to the clubhouse.”
I snap my teeth together and refuse to look or speak to any of them. Bono and the two assholes are grinning at me, and I vow I am going to do them some damage when I work out how to do that.
Back at the clubhouse, I’ve had time to calm down. I’m in the room that I’ve been allocated. It’s a pleasant room with an adjoining bathroom. A nice size bed, dresser, and matching closet. I’ve been resting and wondering how I’m going to sneak out of here when a tap on the door gains my attention.
Stepping over to the door, I crack it open, ready to slam it in Finger’s face because that is who I assume is here. But I’m surprised to see it’s Cap. He is apparently second in charge ofthis place. “What can I do for you?” I ask, and I keep it from sounding nasty.
“Can I have a few minutes of your time? I need to ask you about this ability you have, and if you can help me by using it?”
Cap is looking at me with a polite look. Nothing like the demanding ones I have had up to this point. I open the door wider and give him a nod to enter.
Closing the door, I take a seat on the end of the bed as Cap has taken a seat in the only chair in the room. Which is a cozy chair near the window. I like it, and it’s a comforting place to sit where you can look out of the window and see the compound for goodness knows how far.
“I don’t know how much help you can give me, Cilla. But I know we have a snitch at the clubhouse. I just don’t know who it is. I’ve been watching the prospects and the club women. But so far I have seen no sign of them being snitches. I don’t know who or where to look now, and if Bono can help me find who is giving our information away, I would be grateful.”
Cap is being so honest, and so careful how he’s speaking that I can’t help but sigh, knowing I’m going to help him. “Let me speak to Bono and the assholes.”
Cap frowns. “Who are the assholes?”
“Oh, your friends, Tank and Pyro have joined in the fun and games thanks to Finger.”
“Tank and Pyro have joined Bono?” Cap’s eyes are as round as a dinner plate, and if it wasn’t a serious matter we were speaking of I would laugh at him.
“Okay, how about I ask the three of them to find the snitch, bomber, and this ZeBach character? Once you have them, can I go back to my life?”
