FINGER

Walking into Pres’ office, I take a seat next to Hot Rod, and we quietly wait for Tracker to start the meeting. Tapping his knuckles onto the desktop, the meeting is opened. “Demon, Ghost, report.”

The first thing Ghost covers is the bomb on Demon’s hog. Telling how it was found, and that our very own Seer, as Tracker calls her, is doing us a solid in more ways than one. She’s keeping us alive. Ghost now leans forward in his seat. “We found where the asshole was hiding, but honestly, Pres, it’s like he has inside ears because he was gone before we could get hold of him.Now you know that I can get in and out without being seen, but it’s like he knew we were onto him.”

“Yeah, he was there and we could see him. We were ready to make our move, then he took a call as he was entering his room. He never came out the front of that room, Pres. One minute he was inside and the next gone. Someone warned him. We have a snitch...”

Cap gets to his feet, and I’m watching him closely. It takes a lot to get Cap wound up, but when he is, you don’t stand in his way. “Leave that with me, Pres. I’ll find who is selling us out, and nothing on this earth will stop me ending them.” Cap walks out of the office, and I’m sure he’s going to be watching everything and everybody. Keys gives Tracker a nod before following Cap out of the meeting, and we all know he’s going to be helping catch whoever is selling us out.

“Really, we know nothing more, and we’ve still got to find and grab him,” Tracker states as he leans forward and rests his bearded chin on his clasped hands.

“How about we bring Cilla in and ask her to set her dead folk onto the path of where he is and what he is up to?” Books asks, and Coin is nodding alongside him in agreement.

Rides smirks, “We have dead brothers that would help if they could. Tank would be on this without a second thought.”

Mention of Tank has us all nodding. He was a hell of a brother, and taking a bullet abroad should never have happened to him. He was one of the most loyal people you would ever meet. I loved him like a blood brother, and I’ve never truly gotten over his loss. I nod, “Yeah, he would be all over this.”

“I’ll speak to the Seer once you leave, Finger. Now, let’s discuss ZeBach. I’ve heard from two of my sources, and they say he’s closer to us than we knew. I want everyone armed. Nobodytravels alone. All will stay at the clubhouse unless told otherwise. Rides, you recall all brothers to the compound, close up shop, and I don’t care if people are pissed they haven’t had their dumpster drop, or need towing. This is about our lives, and that is my priority. From now we are on the offensive,” Tracker says with such firmness in his tone that none of us are going to argue.

“What do you want me to do about Cilla? Keep her here?” I ask.

“If Bono is watching, and he’s saying she’s fine, then you can go. If he gives us the nod, she has to stay here, then she stays. I’ll argue with the Seer that a ghost is in charge." Tracker laughs, and I have to admit I smirk at the amusement on his face. “Oh, once all the brothers are on the compound I want to hold church. I need to bring all the brothers up-to-date on what’s happening.”

“I’ll update Cap,” Hot Rod comments, and we all give him a nod that we’ll leave that to him.

“Change of plan. Scalpel, get a room opened up for Cilla. One with a bathroom. Finger, you go with one of the prospects and get some of Cilla’s gear. She’s gonna be staying here whether she likes it or not.” Tracker nods to the door, and we all know that means the meeting is over.

When I leave the meeting, I see Cilla talking and laughing with Bessy, Yvonne, and Spencer, one of the prospects. I sneak past and wave at Robert, who is another prospect and busy sweeping the front of the clubhouse. Seeing me waving at him, he walks briskly over to me saying, “What’s up, Finger?”

“You are with me, Robert. Get the truck and let’s move it. Follow me and don’t hang around,” I quickly state, and get to my hog. I’m not riding in a cage when I can ride my girl. Let the prospect have the pleasure.

Arriving at Cilla’s house, I stop walking when I see the door is ajar and take out the weapon I have tucked at my spine. Flicking my eyes toward Robert, I ask, “Do you have your weapon on you?”

“Yeah, I do,” Robert replies, but waits for my next instructions.

“Go around back and be careful, this fucker is an assassin. Do not hesitate to shoot the asshole. Do you understand? It will be you or him,” I state it firmly and clearly so Robert is under no false illusion.

I watch as Robert quietly rounds the side of the house, and I slowly step up to the front door and push it open. Holding my weapon ready, I take one slow step after another into the house. It’s deathly quiet. No movement that I can hear, no squeaking of floorboards, no sounds of clothing brushing against itself, no gasps of breath. Just deadly silent. I move from one room to another, opening the closet in the hallway, checking the laundry room, and then backtracking to the stairs.

Once I’ve searched every room I head back downstairs, and Robert is standing at the front door, side on so he can see inside and outside. Good, he’s learning.

“Did you see anything, Robert?” I ask while scanning the mess that the asshole made after breaking in. The mess isn’t one to find anything, it’s a tantrum at best.

“Nothing, Finger.”

“Okay, Robert. Stay where you are and keep your eyes peeled.” I take out my phone and make a call. “Cap, need brothers here to clean a mess that has been made at Cilla’s.” I quickly fill him in on what I found, and while we wait for backup, I grab some clothes that Cilla is going to need. Thankfully, the asshole isn’t a sick fuck and did nothing to her personal items, like her panties. But he is going to pay when we find him. He’ll find working for ZeBach is going to be costly, like his life costly.

Walking into the room Rita shares with Flick, I give her the meanest look I can manage. “I have told you one too many times that you pull your act together or you move on. I’m not telling you again, Rita. You do not touch anyone’s things, you do your work, you fuck the brothers if they want to go there with you. If you don’t stick to that, you’ll be gone. I’m not messing about with you any longer.” Rita gives me a weak nod of her head, but I’m not satisfied with that. “You get me, Rita?” I snarl.

“Yes, Finger.”

Tracker steps past me as he was speaking, and I can see he’s pissed at what is going on with Rita. “I’m telling you, Rita. You are on my last nerve. I’m not having you steal from the other women. You are all here because you needed security or some way of progressing with your lives. If you can’t treat the other Fluff with respect, it’s time you packed your bags and were gone.” Continuing, Tracker positions himself so he is nearly nose-to-nose with Rita. “This is your last warning. I’ll either throw you out of the club, or throw you in the acid pit. Your choice!”

I say nothing because I know when Tracker is in this zone, it’s best to leave him be. I hadn’t even realized he was around, but this may be what Rita needs. Who knows!

“Follow me, Finger.” I follow Tracker back to his office, and when he takes his seat I take the one in front of his desk.

“The house was ransacked, Pres. But it wasn’t done in a way that he touched her clothes, like panties and stuff. It was like theman had a tantrum, busted stuff up because he could. He wants her gone because she revealed who he is and blew his cover. But you know I’m going to strip his skin off his body and feed it to him,” I snarl and Tracker smirks, knowing that my beast is beating at me. We all have a beast. It’s something you bring back from being in the service and seeing too much shit.
