“But maybe you can wait before starting your search,” Mason says, picking up for his beta. “With us courting you, it might be better to stay here while we see how things go?”
I bite my lip as I turn my attention to Crew. He considers Mason before nodding. “Kiki and I will discuss it. It does make sense for us to wait at least a little while, but that’s something we’ll decide together.”
“Of course,” Alexander says, his smile never slipping. “And when is your first day at the hospital?”
“Tomorrow night. We’re going to be working the overnight shift in the NICU—that’s the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. They have some nurses on vacation, so we’re going to be working weird days,” I say, both nervous and excited about our new adventure. “We’re working Tuesday and Wednesday nights, then Friday and Saturday nights. But going forward, we’ll be working Thursday through Saturday nights. Unless they need us to work overtime, of course.”
“It seems none of us work jobs that are a normal nine to five, which is helpful.” Davis glances between his pack mates. “Now that we’ve made our intentions clear, we’d like to take the two of you out on dates. We can handle that however the two of you want?—”
“We should all go out together the first time,” Crew says, cutting him off. “After that, Kiki and I can go on a date with one of you at a time. Then we can go from there.”
I shake my head as Crew just bowls over any plans the others have. He’s used to my indecisive ass, who can never pick out where we should eat or what we should do, so he just takes charge.
“Okay. We can do that.” Mason pulls his phone out. “Let me just pull up the pack calendar, and we can see what days work best for all of us.”
Fifteen minutes later, we have a group date set for Thursday night and individual dates with the three of them for Sunday through Tuesday.
“Okay, I have to go before I’m late,” Alexander says with a glance at his watch. “Cody won’t let me hear the end of it if I am.”
He leans over to kiss Mason before pushing to his feet, brushing his lips against Davis’s as he passes. He pauses behind me and Crew, leaning down to wrap his arms around me from behind and kiss the top of my head. “I’m so fucking glad you’re home, Kiki. And that you brought a delicious omega home with you.”
“Where’s my kiss?” Crew asks when the alpha releases me.
Alexander glances between the two of us before shrugging and leaning over to press his lips to Crew’s forehead. “See you later, Crew.”
Davis and Mason are right behind him, giving each other kisses before hugging me and Crew.
Then it’s just the two of us, and I’m left wondering what the hell just happened.
“I feel like I was just in a hurricane. Did that really just happen?”
Crew grins. “It sure did. Let’s do the dishes quickly and go unpack. Then I’ll fuck you into a coma so we can take a nap.”
Well, who would I be to say no to that?
CHAPTER TWELVE
Davis
Thursday seems to come too quickly, but also takes forever to arrive.
But finally, tonight’s the night—our group date with Crew and Kiara.
I shouldn’t be this stressed out.
Wrinkling my nose at my reflection, I remove the tie and toss it over my shoulder.
“I’m glad that was light,” Mason says with a chuckle, and I lift my head to meet his eyes in the mirror.
He looks absolutely delicious in dark jeans and a fitted blue button-down that makes his eyes seem bluer than usual. His hair is perfect as usual, and I bite my lip when he grins and his dimples pop.
“Damn, Mace,” I growl, shaking my head as I spin to face my alpha. “You look good enough to eat.”
“And you look like you’re not ready to go. Crew stuck his head out to say that he and Kiki were going to be ready in like ten minutes. Alexander is already downstairs.” He glances at mypantless state, wearing nothing but boxer briefs. “And you’re wearing a shirt with no pants.”
I sigh, running a hand through my dirty-blond hair. “I can’t decide what to wear, and I know how that sounds. I know it’s stupid. I just don’t want to fuck this up when Kiara’s finally giving us a chance.”
My hands are shaking, so I try to hide them behind my back, but Mason doesn’t miss a beat. He pulls me into his arms, hugging me close.
