She was running because she was scared. Not only from Ruin, who was hell-bent on executing her. But from someone else as well.

“Truth we need to bring them back.”

“I don’t know whether they are together Brother. He didn’t mention and I didn’t ask. But…” he fell

Silent.

“Young Blood leave.” I knew the look on my brothers face. He wanted to talk to me privately. “Now.” I snapped when the younger man hesitated. It was only when the door clicked shut behind him that I spoke again. “What aren’t you telling me?”

Truth sighed. “Gent thinks he is close to finding out who did it. He wouldn’t say much over the phone but….”

“He wants a meet?”

“I’m going to try and get us one yes. We both know Gemma didn’t do that shit. I think it’s about time we find out who the fuck the snake in our midst is don’t you?”

Chapter Thirteen

Chelsea

I fell asleep on the couch in my father’s house around midnight. Fully dressed. I hadn’t meant to. I had just closed my eyes during a commercial break.

So it came as a shock when I felt someone slide their hands under my body and lift me.

“Huh.” Blinking rapidly I relaxed as the scent of Wickeds cut hit my nostrils. I would know the smell of him anywhere. “What time is it?”

He didn’t answer at first. “A little after two. I couldn’t get away.” The stairs squeaked as he headed upstairs. Taking the stairs two at a time as if I weighed nothing at all.

I nuzzled into his warm chest. I didn’t care what time it was, he was here and that was all that mattered.

“Did you miss me?” Wicked headed towards my room without any prompting. Switching on lights as he went.

The white glow made me grimace back. Hiding my face in his shoulder as I tried to grow accustomed to the sudden light.

“Chelsea?”

“You know I did. I tried waiting up but….”

His lips were unbelievably soft on mine. His breath a manly mix of peppermint and whiskey. Why did he always have to smell so good? His body, his breath even his damn hair smelt like pure man and sent waves of lust spiralling down in my stomach.

“I should have called you and said I was going to be late.”

Shaking my head I tried to pull his face down to mine again. I wanted more of his kisses. Hell, I wanted lots more than just kisses. “You know you couldn’t have done that without someone getting suspicious.”

“You are taking this really well Chelsea. Better than I expected.”

I gave him a shrug. I was surprised as well. But I knew I had to either keep our relationship a secret or we wouldn’t have one. I wasn’t about to risk it by acting like the jealous woman.

If anything it was Wicked himself that seemed to be having a hard time of it. He couldn’t seem to keep his hands to himself. Not that I minded.

“How long do I have you tonight? Where do they think you are?”

“I can stay until about five I reckon before someone notices I’ve gone. If they do notice I will tell them I went to meet one of the girls somewhere.”

I hated the thought of him saying that shit. Even when it wasn’t real.

“We best make the most of the hours we have then yeah?” My voice had turned husky. Breathy with need.

“Best had Chelsea. I reckon we should start by taking all your damn clothes off, don’t you?”
