The flowers I had got her, tumbled from my fingers and I stepped over them.

“What are you doing?” Her smile said she knew exactly what I was doing. I gave her a little shove, sending her tumbling onto the bed.

“I thought you wanted me to change?” She looked up at me all doe-eyed.

God, I loved it when she looked up at me like that. She looked so much like the girl I had met all those years ago. Not that I would ever change the woman she was now. But sometimes it was nice to remember her how she was. Before I had screwed everything up.

“Now did I say that?” I crawled up her body. Ducking my head now and then to kiss her. “You didn’t give me a chance to answer you.” I let my hand slide up under her smirt. Coming to a stop on her upper thigh. “Your dress is perfect Avery.” My eyes met hers. “How quiet do you think you can be?”

“Quiet?” For a second she seemed confused and then a light flashed to life in her eyes. “Ohhh.”

“Yeah ohh… do you think you can be quiet babes?” I brought my lips down on hers. A soft kiss of ownership because she was mine. She might not wear my ownership patch yet but she would. “Because I really want to fuck you in that dress.”

She giggled. “God I hope not.”

My laughter joined hers. I didn’t even know why I asked her. I loved the noises she made when I was inside of her. There was no way I would let her be quiet. Even with Parker awake and just downstairs. I would want to hear her scream my name to the ceiling.

It stroked my ego. Made me feel like a man.

“You want to go to dinner babes?” I kept kissing her though. My lips sliding over hers again and again.

“Yes, but I thought we were going to Cooks?”

Raising myself up slightly I stared down at her. “No Avery, tonight I’m going to romance you right out of your panties.”

She smiled that smile of hers. That was half sweet and half sex kitten. “Is that right?”

“That’s right. And then I’m going to screw you until you can’t walk.” Sliding my hand under her I squeezed her ass. “So get your damn boots on so I can take you out to dinner.”

The bike flew down the road, probably faster than I meant to but I knew how much she loved riding. I had no doubt she would have bought herself a bike already if she could have afforded it. I had even offered her one of mine. Something she had refused much to my relief. As much as I wanted Avery to be happy I didn’t like the idea of her riding. I liked her at my back.

Listening to her laughter be caught up in the wind. It was the reason I always seemed to push the bike harder and harder when she was with me. To hear that sound.

Avery was a speed junkie.

Reaching behind me I squeezed her thigh.

Was there anything better than this? The road being eaten up under me, the wind on my face. A beautiful lady pressed up against my back? If there was, I couldn’t imagine it. I didn’t even want to.

The ride was over much quicker than I wanted it to be. If I hadn’t been so late picking her up I could have dragged it out. Taken the scenic route to the little Italian place I had chosen for our date but I had been late, so there was no time.

“A real restaurant?” Avery breath was hot in my ear as I killed the engine. She sounded surprised.

“Yes, Avery a real restaurant. Told you I’m going all out tonight.”

“All this just to get lucky?” Her laughter filled the air. “You don’t usually work this hard for it?”

Didn’t I? Did she want me to make more of an effort with her? Take her out more? Wine and dine her?

With Avery, it was just impossible to tell.

“Do you want me to work harder for it? Would that make a difference?” Swinging myself off the bike I helped her.

“Make a difference to what Ruin?” She wrapped her arms around my neck. Reaching up to press her lips to mine.

“To you agreeing to be my old lady.”
