“Wren was walkin’ to her car when some random girl showed up.I didn’t do anythin’ at first because I thought she was one of the Rebels.Dressed just the same in a way.I heard them start to argue and that’s when I got off my bike and started walkin’ over to them so I could find out what was goin’ on.I didn’t really hear what was bein’ said, but I watched as the girl slammed a pipe in Wren’s head.When I tried to get to her, the girl threatened Wren with the pipe.Said she’d kill her baby and her while I looked on.I couldn’t let her get hurt so I stayed where I was.Two assholes showed up and hauled Wren away.Her phone dropped so you can’t track her that way.I’ve got it in my pocket in case anyone calls,” Zach says as the entire common room goes silent and no one moves a muscle.
“Someone just fuckin’ took her from the compound?”Demolition asks as rage fills me and I can’t find myself able to think of anything I need to do or say right now.My heart is hammering in my chest and I can’t suck in a breath of air.It’s like my entire body is shutting down and I can’t do anything to stop it from happening.I’ve never experienced such paralyzing fear before in my life.
“Yeah.I had to make the choice to keep her from gettin’ more hurt than she already was.The pool of blood surroundin’ her was so damn big for the couple of minutes she laid on the ground.Wren loves her babies so much already and I had to do what I could to save them for her,” Zach says as his words sound like a muffled mess in my ears.
“You did what Wren would have wanted you to do, Zach.Which way did they go when they left with Wren?”Fury asks as I start to sway.
“Got ya, Bray,” Nolan says, walking up to me and letting me lean on him.
“They went toward town.The way Wren was yellin’ at the girl tells me she knows her.They have some kind of past, but I’m not sure what it is,” he informs the room as more men enter to find out what’s going on.
“Ice, pull up the security footage from outside.We need to see the last fifteen minutes or so,” I finally manage to say as I try to stand up straight again.
Ice pulls out his phone and walks over to stand next to me.I watch over his shoulder as he rewinds the recording.When he sees the woman move toward Wren, Ice presses play and we watch the confrontation play out.Fury stands on the other side of Ice as we listen to their argument and I know this is the woman Wren was sharing an apartment with.Not only did this bitch steal from her, but she was watching every move Wren made through hidden cameras.What kind of twisted bitch did she move in with?
“Ice, pull up everythin’ you can on that woman.I want rides out in pairs searchin’ for any sign of Wren.We know nothin’ about this bitch so there’s no clue where she would possibly go,” I order as men start to move and I leave the common room to head for my office.
Rage fuels me as I shove my door open and slam it closed behind me.I walk up to my desk and with one motion, I clear everything from the top of it.My laptop ends up on the floor, smashed in pieces after hitting the wall.Papers fly all over the room and land wherever they float down to.Pens scatter across the room like miniature missiles being launched.Grabbing one end of the desk, I tip it over and listen as it cracks before collapsing in a pile on the floor.Next, I grab my chair and launch it at the wall closest to me.A huge hole causes dust and paint chips to fly around me, nicking my skin in a few places.Pictures fall off the wall and smash against the floor sending glass all over the floor around them.I don’t leave a single inch of my office intact as I try to rid my body of the rage consuming me.It does absolutely nothing as I stand, panting from exertion while examining the destruction I’ve just created.
“I see you’ve been redecoratin’ in here,” Fury says, walking in without knocking as he stands near the door.“This isn’t what Wren needs from you, Braydon.She needs you to be fuckin’ strong and ready to get here the second we get a lead.Wewillfind her.Not just for you but for Tristan and Zach.They’re both losin’ their shit.Zach the most because he’s carryin’ the weight of her abduction on his shoulders right now.”
“She doesn’t know the truth.Somethin’ I didn’t want to face because of how I grew up.Ineedher to be safe, Fury.Wren has to come home in one piece,” I state as my brothers and Gramps enter my office while I sink to the floor against what’s left of my desk.Tears fall from my eyes and I do nothing to stop them.
Rage and fear battle for dominance inside me.My heart hurts and it feels as if someone is ripping the soul from my body.Nolan and Brice kneel down in front of me and force me to look at them.
“We’re gonna bring Wren home, Braydon.She’s fuckin’ family and we will do everythin’ in our power to ensure she’s safe and those babies are protected.You know we got your back and won’t accept defeat of any kind when it comes to the women in our family,” Nolan states as I focus on him and see that he’s ready to fight to the death to ensure Wren comes home.
“What the fuck do you mean, babies?”Fury asks as I let my head fall forward once more because shame fills me with the way I’ve treated Wren.I should have been at her doctor’s appointment with her today instead of letting her go in alone.I’m so fucking stupid and things could be completely different between the two of us.
“She’s pregnant with twins,” Gramps tells him because I can’t talk right now.“Found out today.I guess one of them was hidin’ the last time she had an ultrasound done.”
“Holy fuck!”Fury says before the room goes silent once again.
Nolan and Brice remain close to me while Fury doesn’t leave the office.It’s the first time in days we’ve been in the same room.I’d talk to him but right now I can’t do anything but think of Wren and everything I’ve put her through since that night in The Hide Out.

Zeus has been calledto help Ice pull up information on Wren’s old roommate.With the two of them working, we should be able to find something sooner rather than later.Ice is still honing his hacking skills and figuring out where to look for information.Zeus already knows how to dig up what we’re looking for and find anything out in the blink of an eye.Ice chose to call him because he doesn’t want Wren taken from us for longer than necessary.
“Judge, we need to have church.Ice has Zeus on the phone and they’ve gathered information we need to hear,” Carver says, walking in my office where I’m still sitting on the floor.
No one has made any comments when they enter the room and see it torn to shreds.A lot of repairs will have to be made and I’ll have to buy new furniture for the room before I can use it again.Something to think about after I know Wren and the babies are okay.
“Tristan and Zach will be in there,” I state, pushing myself off the floor on shaky arms.“They know her the best and deserve to know what’s goin’ on with her.”
“I’ll get them now,” Nolan says, leaving the office as I kick and step on debris in my way.
Fury and I leave the office and hand our weapons to Wyatt as he stands outside the doors of church.Today, we’ll all be bringing our phones in with us because we need to be reached at all times.Half the guys are out riding around searching for any sign of the woman who took Wren from our compound.We still need to figure out how she got in to begin with.None of us usually make exceptions to the laws of the club, but this is one time we will.Wren’s life is on the line and none of us will risk it.
“Church in session,” I state when the doors close behind my brothers as they enter the meeting room.“Ice, what have Zeus and you discovered in your search?Is Zeus still on the phone?”
“Zeus is on the phone still.He’s not done searchin’.He sent me over a ton of files on this bitch Karmen Monroe.Wren lived with her for about nine months.She would hand over cash to Karmen who used her checkin’ account to pay the bills.For a while, everythin’ was goin’ as was stated in the lease Wren signed to sublet the room she had.The apartment is rundown and owned by a slumlord.He doesn’t ever make repairs and only shows up to collect rent.About four months ago, Karmen stopped payin’ the bills.The only time she ever sent money was when she’d get a shutoff notice for one of the utilities.Karmen paid the minimum balance and took the rest of the money to spend on herself.
“Karmen has never had a job in her life and is pictured with several men from the time she was eighteen years old.She frequents strip clubs, bars, casinos, and anywhere guys spend time at.She’s never spotted with the same man longer than a few weeks.She gets them to take her on vacations, spend money on whatever she wants, and steals from them before movin’ on to the next victim.Five years she’s been doin’ the same shit and has perfected usin’ everyone around her.Wren was another victim and she didn’t realize it until it was too late,” Ice informs us and for the first time I want to put hands on a woman who treated Wren like shit.
“I’ve found the camera link for what she installed in Wren’s room.Set everythin’ up in her name like a fuckin’ moron,” Zeus speaks up from Ice’s phone.“She watched Wren for about six months.Changed out the cameras every month on the same day each time.It was always when Wren was out of the apartment.Most of the footage is borin’ as hell.Karmen was watchin’ her to see where Wren hid her money and other valuables.Wren doesn’t have much, but what she does have, she protected the best she could.
“When Wren would sleep at night or durin’ the day dependin’ on the job she had at the time, that’s when Karmen would make her move.Wren took her money with her and didn’t leave anythin’ behind when she left the apartment.She already didn’t trust Karmen.Karmen would go into Wren's room and steal money from her.She wouldn’t take it all at once, leavin’ about half of what Wren had stashed away each time.There’s no way in hell Wren didn’t know what was happenin’ but she didn’t do anythin’ about it.
