It doesn’t take long for Annie to come back in.She goes over the paperwork with me and makes sure I know to make an appointment with an obstetrician as soon as possible.A prescription for more of the cream and prenatal vitamins has been called in for me to pick up before I get dropped off somewhere.I don’t know how I’ll apply it myself, but I’ll figure something out.Or I just won’t use it.Annie helps me in the wheelchair she brought in with her after I sign on the dotted line and accept the copy of the discharge papers.I shove them in the bag Tristan brought me with the clothes I was wearing the day of the accident. They’ll be thrown out once I’m out of here because I won’t be able to wear them again. Not with the blood stains and the memories I’ll constantly be reminded of.

As we leave the room, Tristan and Zach meet us in the hallway. They’re talking about something and stop immediately once they see me.Both of them have large smiles on their faces.

“Wren, you’re finally free!”Tristan says louder than necessary as he reaches out to give me a fist bump.Yeah, he always wants a damn fist bump.

“I’m free. You ready to get me out of here?”I ask, looking between the two of them.

“We’re ready if you are,” Zach says, stepping behind me to take Annie’s place while Tristan grabs the bag off of my lap.

They push me to the elevator and inside when the doors slide open.Tristan pushes the button for the first floor as the doors close behind me.I can hear them sliding closed since Zach didn’t turn me around. My stomach flips with how fast the elevator moves but I don’t feel like I’m about to be sick this time. When it stops, Zach wheels me out and finally turns me around so I can see where we’re going instead of where we’ve been. That’s when I see Fury walking in the hospital. This time he’s alone as he rushes up to us.

“Heard you two were comin’ to pick her up and thought I’d join ya,” he greets us as Zach stops pushing me.“Did you think any more about what you’re gonna do now that you’ve been discharged? Will you please come back to the clubhouse? You’ll have your own room and we’ll be there to help you with whatever you need.”

“Okay.I’ll go to the clubhouse for a day or two. Then I’ll be leaving, Fury.I’m not staying in Briar Glen and I’m definitely not staying in the clubhouse for longer than necessary,” I tell him as he looks down at me.

“We’re gonna fix your car, Wren.It could use some maintenance.Tris and I are coverin’ the costs. This is the only way you’ll get it back. You’ve had that car for five years now and it wasn’t new when you bought it before leavin’ the house.I’m surprised it still fuckin’ runs,” Zach informs me as Tristan nods next to me.

“Guys, you don’t have to do that.I’ve been taking care of it.I get the oil changed, change the tires when they need it, and all that stuff.I’ve done most of the work myself thanks to videos online,” I tell them knowing I’ll owe them a lot of money I don’t have for the repairs.

“Not happenin’, Wren.Let them fix the car. They won’t be payin’ for it though.Dad is.He already told Judge to pull it in so he can get it fixed up.Tristan and Zach can do the work. Now, let’s get out of here and take you to lunch. You got prescriptions to pick up?”Fury asks me and I nod as Zach starts pushing me again.

I’m taken out to an SUV parked right in front of the doors.Fury opens the back door before Tristan lifts me in his arms and sets me on the seat. When I protest that I can stand and walk, he shrugs me off.The door is closed behind me and I watch Fury talk to them for a minute before he walks away.Tristan gets in the driver’s seat while Zach climbs in the passenger side.

“I brought you a blanket from my room because I know you’ll be cold.Tristan has the air conditionin’ on.Cover up, Wren.We don’t need you gettin’ sick when you’re still healin’.The risk has lessened for you to get pneumonia, but it hasn’t completely gone away yet,” Zach orders me and I nod while grabbing the blanket from the seat next to me.

The four of us go to a diner in town.I’m moving slower than normal as they lead me inside and to a table in the back.No one else is sitting close to it as we take our seats and I look over the menu.Fury tells me to order anything I want because lunch is on them.He just opened a can of worms because I’m starving.Tristan notices the look on my face and starts laughing. He tells Fury I’ll end up ordering an appetizer, full meal, drink, and a dessert because I’m hungry. And that I’ll eat it all.Fury starts laughing and tells me to choose whatever I want.He doesn’t care how much food it is as long as I’m full when I’m done.I have a great time over lunch with the guys but I dread going to the clubhouse. It’s the only reason I didn’t tell them we didn’t need to stop for lunch. And, the sundae I ordered was the best one I’ve ever had.Tristan also ordered me a brownie, piece of pie, and a piece of cake to take back with me.Yeah, I can eat and I’m not ashamed to admit that.

Chapter Eight

Judge

WREN IS GETTING dischargedfrom the hospital today. The only reason I know is because Fury told me.We had church yesterday to go over the new information from the accident that took Razer from us and so I could update everyone on the funeral arrangements.Lash is finally also on his way here with the club and will be here tomorrow. They’re taking their time on the road and stopping more often for the ol’ ladies and my Gramps.Anyway, Fury informed everyone Wren will be staying here, even though she still hasn’t agreed to, and everyone is to leave her alone. She’s not a new toy for them to play with. She is the woman who tried to save Razer and will be treated with respect. The second the guys learned that piece of information, I could tell they will be on their best behavior toward her.Razer was important to everyone in the club and these guys knowing she risked her life to try and save his just earned her a shit ton of respect from every man at the table.

Every single day for the last week, I’ve watched Tristan and Zach interact with her. They laugh, talk about everything, and I can see how close the three of them are.Without even trying, they’re in her limited circle and have a past with Wren.I don’t know much about Wren, but she doesn’t seem to have a lot of people in her life.I’ve only seen her with the guys from the club at the hospital. No one else visited her with the exception of the foster mom she shares with Tristan and Zach. The woman is great. She kind of yelled at Wren for not staying in contact since leaving her home and brought up food for her. When she saw me in the hallway and not in the room, she started laughing.Told me I was on Wren’s shitlist and it takes a lot to get back off that when you earn a spot there.Wren apparently isn’t big on second chances and doesn’t allow too many people to get close to her for some reason.

“Judge, you really need to be okay with Wren stayin’ here for a little while.I’m not gonna allow her to sleep in her car when she’s still not fully healed.I wouldn’t let her sleep in her car if she were healed, honestly. And from what little I know about the situation between the two of you, you did her wrong. Not the other way around. She’s stickin’ to her word and not clingin’ on to you.She wants nothin’ to do with you and I have a feelin’ she’ll give you all the space you want.Even in the clubhouse,” Fury says as he walks up to me at the bar where I’m currently sitting with a bottle of water.
