Chapter Six
Judge
THE SECOND FURY andthe rest of the guys leave Wren’s hospital room, I meet them in the hallway. They all look at me, but don’t say a word as we make our way to the elevator and I notice Tristan isn’t in the hallway.Looking around, I don’t see him anywhere.
“Where’s Tristan? He’s supposed to be in the hallway on guard duty?”I question the guys as the elevator doors close so no one else can listen to our conversation.
“He’s in the room with Wren. They’re close to one another and are catchin’ up,” Fury informs me and I wonder what the hell he’s talking about.
“How the hell do they know one another? That’s impossible,” I state as the doors open again and we leave the hospital.
“They were in a foster home together.Zach was with them, too.He won’t be stayin’ in the hallway unless she’s sleepin’, I can guarantee that.I don’t even give a shit because he’ll still be with her,” Fury says and I don’t know what to think.“Just so you know, I told Wren she can stay at the clubhouse when she gets discharged. She was gonna sleep in her fuckin’ car and I’m not lettin’ that shit happen. She’s recoverin’ from tryin’ to save Razer and I owe her.We all owe her.Don’t start any shit with her, Judge.”
“What the fuck is goin’ on today?”I ask no one in particular.“I thought I was the President of the club and made decisions.”
“You are and that won’t change. In this situation, I’m the Vice President and make decisions in your absence. You weren’t in the room and so I made a choice. That’s all you gotta know,” Fury fires back, anger filling his voice as I look at him because it’s the first time he’s shown emotion other than sadness and pain since we learned of Razer’s death.
“Fine. You want her to stay, she can stay,” I tell him as we get to our bikes and I tie my bandana around my lower face before putting on my helmet.
Our small group gets on our bikes and we start the engines, revving them a few times before pulling out.Fury rides next to me with Vulture and Demolition behind us and Ice with Carver bring up the end of our group.During the entire ride, I can’t get Wren out of my head.Seeing her in the bed looking even smaller than the night I fucked her at The Hide Out.The bed practically swallowed her whole.I didn’t see any injuries on her face or neck when I looked at her, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t there.Did she hit her head?Where was she hurt? How bad is she hurt?So many questions filter through my mind.It seems that’s all that’s been happening since yesterday when this all started.I’ve got more questions than I can answer.
Pulling back into the compound, we all take our spots in front of the clubhouse and shut the bikes off.For a minute, I don’t move as everyone but Fury heads inside the clubhouse.I know Fury has questions for me and I’m not sure how to answer anything.
“Never seen a girl react to you like that, Judge. What the fuck happened between the two of you?Why does Wren hate you so much?”he finally asks me when we’re alone.
“The girl I was tellin’ you about from that night at The Hide Out?”I ask him and wait for him to nod before I continue.“Wren is the girl I fucked in the bathroom. When I saw her name while you were showerin’, I wondered if it was her, but thought it was just a coincidence.Turns out, it wasn’t.I don’t know why she hates me so much though. It’s not like I left her hangin’.She got off before I did.”
“You’re so fuckin’ stupid, Judge.Yeah, you might have gotten her off, but that’s it.I can guarantee you cleaned yourself up and left her alone in the bathroom. That’s fine when you’re dealin’ with a Rebel. If you’re with someone else, you can’t do that shit.I don’t blame her for hatin’ your guts.Did you know she lost her job and was evicted from her apartment?”Fury asks me as I stare in front of me without seeing a damn thing.
“Didn’t know that. Why would I?”I question him as he snorts at my response.
“Because you want to fuck her again. You want to make her yours and don’t realize it yet.Wren is different from the rest of the women you’ve used to find your release and you don’t know how to deal with it.You’re not your parents, Judge. You couldn’t leave your kids and ol’ lady behind if you had to.They’d be too important to you.You prove that every fuckin’ day with the way you treat the rest of us.If it were your own blood, your kids, you’d be with them every fuckin’ second you’re not workin’.I see it when you’re with your nieces and nephews. You love those kids as if they were your own. It’s okay to have a family, Judge. They won’t hold you back or make you miss out on anythin’.,” Fury says as if it’s the only thing that makes sense in this situation.
“You’re wrong, Fury.I don’t want Wren again. You know I fuck once and that’s it.No one ever gets in my bed again,” I state emphatically, believing with everything in me this is the truth of the situation.“Is she okay?I mean, does she have a lot of bad injuries from yesterday?”
“She’ll be okay. All the wounds are superficial.A lot of bruisin’ and cuts.I don’t know the extent because it’s all on her back.Wasn’t about to ask her to show me.Ask yourself this, Judge. Why haven’t you been able to fuck anyone else in the last two months? You were more of a manwhore than any of us in the club. Now, you’re unable to get hard unless you think of Wren. That should tell ya somethin’.It should tell you everythin’ if I’m bein’ honest. In the time it took to fuck her in the bathroom of that shithole bar, she got under your skin and you can’t get rid of her.I bet if you had her in your arms right now, you’d be hard as fuck without a problem. Not tellin’ ya what to do, but I will say if I catch you bein’ an ass to Wren when she’s here, I’ll beat the fuck outta ya.Got a lot of rage inside me right now and it needs an outlet,” Fury says, getting off his bike and leaving me alone to think of what he just said.
Shaking my head, I get off my bike and follow him inside. There’s still a lot I have to do to prepare for Razer’s funeral.Starting with an announcement to the club. Not everyone knows we lost one of our own yet.All the members do, but the Prospects and Rebels have no clue.Everyone has the right to know and I’ll have to tell them now.Walking inside the clubhouse, I find the common room full.Looking at Fury where he sits at the bar with his dad and uncle, I make my way over.
“Gonna make the announcement about Razer now,” I say as Demolition looks at me.
“Okay,” he says before turning back around and dropping his head.
“Can I have everyone’s attention!”I holler as the music stops playing and everyone turns to face me.“Not everyone knows this yet, but yesterday we lost two of our own. There was an incident on the road.We don’t know all the details at this point, but we’re learnin’ a little more each day.Greyson, one of our Prospects, and Razer died.Razer was pronounced dead at the hospital and I’m guessin’ Greyson was pronounced dead at the scene.I’m waitin’ to hear if they found his body yet.The clubhouse will become full of clubs very soon for the funeral.Everyone needs to start pullin’ their own weight or you can get the fuck out.I’m not fuckin’ playin’.Some of you Rebels don’t do shit around here and that’s gonna change startin’ right now.You either get off your ass and clean or I’ll personally show you the damn door.Everyone raise a drink in honor of Razer and Greyson.”
I’m handed a beer and open it before raising it in the air.I can hear sobs coming from the Rebels, muttered curses from the men, and someone is crying behind me.I don’t turn around because I’m about to lose it myself.I have yet to start mourning the loss of a brother. It can’t happen until I know Fury is going to be okay. For now, I’ll simply push my feelings to the bottom and deal with them later on.
“I’ll be in the office if you need me.Got a lot of calls to make so everyone knows,” I say before walking away.
