Calla continued to shove him with his head. Adew gasped for air with every jostle. The awkward position and Calla’s shoving were slowly strangling him.
“Stop,” he gasped out. The okie stopped abruptly. He stared at him for a little while, then walked out of the washroom. Adew breathed out a sigh of relief, even though he hated the fact that he was left alone now, half naked on the floor, a cocktail of pain and arousal thrumming through his veins. Why he was still aroused was beyond him.
Dammit, he moaned clenching his teeth.

Nylune
Nylune tried his best not to think about what he and Dr Micha had talked about a few days ago, because every time he did, he grew wet and needy. He was yet to meet the alpha, but he already felt the unknown alpha’s effect on him. What was going to happen once he met him? Was he going to crawl on his knees and beg him to fuck him? It was possible. He’d practically begged Deltta to fuck him when they were in the office.
Fuck.
Nylune viciously stabbed the weed he’d been trying to remove with his weeder until he ripped the weed into shreds; the only thing left was a stringy root still holding on to the soil. He pulled it out, but he overestimated his power and the weed’s tenacity to live – it held on to the ground refusing to let go. Nylune yanked harder. The root snapped, sending him backward to drop down on his ass.
“Dammit,” Nylune said, reaching for his gas mask. He pulled it off and breathed in fresh air, spiced with citrus. The patches were still going strong. They gave him peace of mind that he wouldn’t catch the scent of the alpha next door. But he’d be moving soon. He wouldn’t have to worry about him anymore.
Well, he wouldn’t have to worry about any alpha’s scent if Dr Micha’s theory was true. Nylune’s hands shook at the thought. “Don’t think about it,” he told himself and moved to another bed of flowers. He dug around, removing weeds and talking to his flowers, forcing himself to keep busy or he would freak out like a fool.
His connector went off on the lounge chair where he’d left it earlier. His heart gave a wild thud. There were only three people who would connect with him: Hazi, Ludiin and Dr Micha. Nylune hoped it wasn’t the latter. He wasn’t ready to meet the alpha yet. He let it ring for a while, but whoever was on the other side wasn’t giving up.
You can’t run forever, he thought as he got to his feet and was about to walk to the porch when he heard a scratching sound. He looked around him, confused. He turned to where the okie had dug a hole beneath the wall to come into his yard. The hole had been closed and reinforced with cement. There was no way it would come through there. Unless it… dug another hole right next to the first one.
Nylune froze as he watched the soil rise as if something was pushing it from the other side until a furry head appeared. The okie bounded out of the hole so fast Nylune didn’t have time to react.
Oh, shit, Nylune thought, running to the house. But the okie blocked his way. It took a step towards him, his eyes on him as if he were assessing his prey. Nylune tried his best not to panic. The first time it had come to his yard, it hadn’t hurt him. Perhaps it wouldn’t hurt him this time either, if he didn’t react to it. Nylune stood still, trying his best not to move, even when it took another stalky step towards him, which brought it close. It opened its mouth, revealing double rows of sharp teeth.
Nylune gasped and took a step back. “Please don’t eat me,” he begged. But the okie came closer. This time, it took hold of his arm with its mouth. Nylune almost fainted as he felt the sharp teeth graze his skin. But it didn’t bite him. Instead, it dragged him to the hole. Nylune didn’t fight, afraid it’d break his arm. It dropped his arm and shoved him to the hole. Nylune braced his hands on the wall, but the animal kept nudging him with its head.
“What do you want?” Nylune whimpered, trying to get away from it. But the okie was persistent. Nylune raised his arms in surrender. “You want me to go in there?” he asked, going to his knees. He crawled under the wall, coming up on the other side. The yard was dark and he couldn’t see anything. The okie followed him through the wall, and took his arm with his mouth again, dragging him to the house.
“You’d better not bite me,” Nylune said, cringing with every step they took. The okie took him to the side of the house, where a window was broken. Nylune stared at it, confused. Light spilled out from some room down what looked like a short hallway, throwing the room into shadow. The okie let him go and bounded through the window. He walked to the door of the room and then stopped, waiting.
He wanted him to come inside.
Had something happened to its alpha? Is that why he’d broken a window and come to fetch him?
Nylune took a step back. He couldn’t go in there. The alpha’s scent was everywhere in there. He couldn’t… He turned and was about to run away when the okie made a bloodcurdling sound that froze him in place. He jumped out of the window and came at him.
“Okay…okay. I’ll go,” Nylune said, turning back to the window. He carefully climbed through the window, mindful of the glass. He was glad he still had his gardening gloves on. He dropped down on the other side and looked around him in the semi-darkness. Exercise equipment sat around the room, making him wonder what the alpha was into. He clearly loved to exercise. Traces of the alpha’s scent lingered in the room, enticing his senses. Nylune bit the inside of his mouth, trying not to breathe it in. But it was everywhere.
He groaned, wishing for his gas mask. He shouldn’t have taken it off earlier. But he hadn’t known that the okie would come back again, and this time drag him to the alpha he was trying to avoid.
Where was he, anyway?
The okie came through the window after him and walked to the door. He stopped and looked at him over his massive shoulder.
“I’m coming,” Nylune said. He followed it down the hallway towards the light. The okie disappeared into the open doorway that led into what Nylune assumed to be the bedroom. He took a tentative step towards the door, but stopped as the alpha’s scent hit him, making his stomach flutter and his eyes droop close as everything inside him melted to a puddle. The alpha was in heat. His scent was intoxicating. Nylune whimpered, his knees going weak. His scent alone was like an aphrodisiac.
He smelled like the wildest and most exotic of flowers.
Nylune liked it.
He liked it so much, he yearned to bathe and roll around in it until his scent was all over his skin and he could smell it all day long. A shivery sensation rushed through him, making him grasp his knees. Nylune gasped, breathing in more of the scent. His mind went hazy and he could feel himself going into that dark place where rational thought didn’t exist. All he wanted was to fuck…to be bred like he was some animal in heat.
He shouldn’t have come in here.
Nylune slapped a hand over his nose, ready to bolt. But he heard a strangled sound coming from inside the room.
