“What’s wrong?” Tarymn asked.
“I don’t know,” Hym handed the reader to his brother. “It feels too easy.”
Tarymn laughed humourlessly. “I hope it’s easy. Hiding this shit from Deltta is getting hard. The inauguration is this weekend. That’s three days away. I don’t know what’s going to happen. What if they attack him again?”
“Makar said the same thing. But we’ll be there. Nothing is going to happen to him.”
His brother nodded as he got to his feet.
“Let’s go eat,” he said.
“How did you get the report anyway. I thought Master what’s his face was supposed to present it to the council of alphas.”
“Master Rosh. I convinced him otherwise. But I can’t hide it forever.” Tarymn said with a sigh. “Let’s find the bastard behind this, please.”
“We will,” Hym said, throwing his arm over his shoulders. “You’re tense, brother. When was the last time you got laid.”
Tarymn growled, shoving him away.
Hym laughed, happy for the first time in a long time.
Fuck. He couldn’t wait to get home.
Chapter 19
Jamue
Was it too forward of him to go to his alpha’s room and spend time with him?
Jamue paced in front of his bed, staring at the door. He wanted to go to him. He saw him at dinner, they even sat next to each other, but it wasn’t enough.
He wanted him…. he bit the inside of his mouth as a deep yearning twisted his stomach into knots. It felt like he would get sick if he didn’t go to him.
He touched his stomach, feeling strange inside.
“I want to be close to him,” he said, sitting on the bed, pouting.
He shoved to his feet, irritated with himself. He was his companion omega. It was his job to make sure his alpha was okay.
He should go and check on him.
Jamue nodded. “I’m going to check on him.”
He made his way to Hym’s room. He paused at the door, then quickly knocked before he changed his mind. There was no answer.
Where was he?
Disappointment filled him.
He wanted to see him, touch him, and…Jamue shook his head, feeling clingy.
He shouldn’t be feeling this way after spending his heat with him. Omegas and alphas shared their heats all the time.
It wasn’t that deep. But… Jamue stared at the door, the need to be with him intensifying.
Maybe if he got a whiff of his scent, he would be able to settle.
That’s not weird, right?
