“Are you sure you’re fine?”

Hym looked up at his commander.

Was that guilt in his eyes?

He turned away before he could figure it out. He walked back to his desk and picked up his connector.

“Makar, I’m fine. It’s just phantom pain.”

He got them sometimes when his dreams were too intense.

Makar looked down at his chest, right where his scar was. There was definitely guilt in his eyes.

What did he have to feel guilty about?

They all put their lives in danger doing this work. He didn’t have to feel guilty for what happened.

He survived, and he was going to beat this.

“What did you want to talk about?” he asked, changing the subject.

Makar stared at him for a few seconds as if he wasn’t sure what to say.

“The Alpha King's case, I’m going to hand it over to Cali and Iror. You should take time to sort yourself out. You seem to be getting worse, your dreams are more acute. And your wolf…you partially turned when you were asleep, Hym.”

He did?

Fuck. His wolf must have reacted to his dream.

“I can’t let you go into the field when you’re like this.”

What?

He couldn’t do this to him.

Work was the only thing that kept him sane.

“Makar…”

“No. You have three options. You either take care of this or get medicated, which will be the closest thing to being castrated, considering you need all your senses in the field. That’s why I haven’t suggested that before now. I can’t have a medicated alpha on my team. The council of alphas made concessions to keep the lot of you off the meds, but that will go to shit if they find out that one of my alphas is out of control.”

All the Alpha Force alphas were on the aggressive side. They had heightened senses and reacted faster to dangerous situations.

“What is the third option?”

Makar stared at him, saying nothing.

Hym shook his head.

If he couldn’t find a way to get better, he was out.

He would go crazy.

“I’ll take care of it,” Hym declared.

“How?”

Hym didn’t reply. He walked out of the office to the parking dome, got into his pod and drifted back home.
