Hym turned his way. He stood in front of the big screen in the command centre.

Why did they bring him in here?

As if he heard his silent question, Makar turned to him. “Hopefully, work will motivate him to take control of his wolf and change back.”

“I’ll get going,” Deltta said. “Maxus took Mac home. I need to go and check on him.”

Tarymn straightened and walked the alpha king to the door. “Thank you again, Deltta. Things would have been messy if you were not here.”

“Give him time. He’ll snap out of it,” Deltta said, walking out of the room.

“You should go home too. I’ll look after him,” Makar said.

Tarymn turned to the cage. Hym prowled inside as he stared at him. He snarled, wanting out. The need to find his mate burned through him.

“Yeah. Luci and Ludiin must be worried.” He walked closer to the cage and bent down to face his wolf. “Come back, brother. You still have me.”

His words intensified the pain inside him at the loss of his mate. Hym was glad he was in wolf form, or the pain would have been excruciating. His wolf stepped away from the bars and scanned the cage, looking for weaknesses.

He wasn’t going to give up that easily.

He heard Tarymn sigh, and then the door opened and closed.

“Shit,” Makar groaned. He stared at the cage for a while before turning away. “Rhine, did you find them?”

“Not yet,” the omega said, clicking away on his pad.

“He’s waiting for the one who contacted him to turn on their device so he can connect with the bug he planted in their system,” Roc said snidely. “I thought he had a genius way of finding them. He’s just using tricks. He used the same shit on me. He planted a bug in my system.”

“It's not a trick. It’s called pre-empting a threat. You should try it. Your system is weak,” he said.

“What did you just say?” Roc growled.

“You heard me.”

Makar groaned. “Fuck, you two. This is not the time. You can fuck each other later.”

Roc coughed.

“I would never fuck him,” Rhine bit out.

“I don’t care. Fucking find me something.” Makar said in a lethal tone. "We need a win for Hym."

“Pray he turns the device on in the next couple of hours,” Rhine said, unfazed. “Or we might have to wait for days.”

“Shit. Think of another way to find them. We don’t have time to wait. Hym need something to sink his claws in…literally.”

“I’m on it, boss. You can leave everything to me,” Roc said smugly. Makar shook his head and walked out of the room.

Hym snarled at him. He fucking hated him then. His wolf prowled the cage, searching for a way out. Roc taunted Rhine as they worked throughout the day and night. By morning they were full-on fighting.

His wolf became agitated the longer he was in the cage, away from his mate. He needed to find him. He couldn’t stand the thought of him with that sleazy alpha. He snarled at the two in the room, frustration rolling off him.

His aggression rose in him as he scented Makar.

“Fuck, Hym. Change back already. Take control of your damn wolf,” he said impatiently. His wolf snarled, racking its claws across the bars. “Don’t look at me like that. It’s too dangerous to let you go outside. People might get hurt.”

Not people, just one motherfucker!
