“I’m in Dr Micha’s office,” Mac said, staring at the door.

His stomach tightened; he couldn’t breathe again. He slid off the bed and started to pace.

You’re only going to break the bond. You’re doing the right thing. He’d thank you in the long run, he told himself.

The door to the room opened, and Dr Micha walked in.

“Is he coming?”

“Yes,” Mac said. “It probably doesn’t matter, but the alpha is…”

“Micha?” Deltta said from inside the office.

Shirhe visibly jerked. His shoulders and head instantly dropped in submission. Mac had never seen Deltta in action before. He knew he was a strong alpha, but... he never thought it was like this.

The power and dominance that radiated off him was primal. His eyes landed on him like a searing blade.

Mac gulped.

Voice gone guttural Deltta spoke. “What’s going on?”

Uhh… Mac panicked.

Dr Micha cleared his throat. “Alpha king.”

“What?” Deltta snapped.

Mac and Dr Micha winced. Mac staggered, reaching for the bed.

Deltta was there in seconds. He wrapped his arms around him and lowered him onto the bed. “Shit, sorry.”

“Maybe you should calm down, alpha king.”

Deltta visibly tried to relax – tight muscles rippled, clenched jaw unhinged, and his eyes lost the blazing heat Mac had felt along his skin.

“I’ll leave you both to talk.” Dr Micha stepped out, leaving an oppressive tension that caused Mac to fidget.

Deltta sat next to him. “What’s going on?”

Mac wished he hadn’t. His warmth was tempting. “What are you doing here? Are you hurt?”

“No.” Mac stared down at his hands, searching for words. Just say it, he told himself. “I came to remove the claiming mark, which will break any bond that might have formed between us.”

Silence met his words. Mac glanced at him. Only to find him staring back at him, horror reflected in his eyes.

Deltta pushed to his feet, hovering over him. “What the fuck Mac?”

“We have to do it. Its…” Mac swallowed, tears filling his eyes. Fuck. He wasn’t going to cry. “It’s the right thing to do.”

“For whom?” Deltta roared.

“Listen…” Mac reached for him, but he stepped back, his tearful eyes focused on him. He looked devastated.

“I’m not doing this. I’m not. Connect with me when you’re thinking more clearly.” He turned and left.

What do I do? Mac asked himself, wiping the tears that ran down his cheeks.
