Mac shrugged, not wanting to go into the why of it. Griean, like Jamue, believed whatever they wanted about him. He wouldn't understand even if he explained it to him.
“What are we doing here? I thought you wanted me to meet the alpha. You said he was in heat already,” Mac said, looking around the posh room with its white couches.
Griean bit his bottom lip, and then pulled him to the couches, “sit down for a second.”
"What? You’re making me nervous. What am I doing here, Griean?”
“The alpha is here. He’s...its Deltta Kohle.”
“What?” Mac jumped to his feet.
Chapter 5
Mac
Griean gripped his arm. “Would you have come if I told you it was him?"
“I...” Mac trailed off, lost for words.
How was he supposed to be with Deltta fucking Kohle? He was... he was once the alpha king of the goddamned planet. How was he supposed to measure up to someone like that? He was...Mac looked down at himself.
“Griean, I can’t do this.”
He wasn't going to humiliate himself again. Not again.
“Is it because I told you he liked me and tried to take me away from Djohn?” he asked sheepishly.
“What? No.” Mac didn’t care about that. He knew how it was; alphas liked omegas like Griean on sight. They found them visually pleasing. It wasn’t even an emotional thing.
“Then what is it?”
“It’s just…I’m…” He resisted the urge to look at himself again. Fuck, he hated this.
“No, Mac. You can do it. He’s not what everyone says he is. Yes, he's rough around the edges and blunt. And he comes off as aggressive and overwhelming. But he has to be like that. He’s the strongest alpha on the planet. He can’t be any other way.”
Mac shook his head.
That wasn’t the problem. Those were the things that made Deltta Kohle hot. But Mac was sure he wasn’t what the alpha wanted.
“I’m sorry for not telling you. That was my mistake. Please, don't walk away,” Griean said, sounding contrite.
Fuck. He didn’t want to disappoint him, but he couldn't do it.
If it was another alpha, he would gladly do it...Deltta Kohle was out of his league.
Mac opened the door and froze as he came face to face with Maxus Kohle. His blue eyes landed on him, his overwhelming presence demanding submission. Mac looked down, hoping his hair would hide him, but the messy bun held.
“Are you going to do it?” Maxus asked awkwardly. “Deltta is going crazy. We shouldn't keep him waiting for long.”
uhhh...Mac opened his mouth to speak, but Griean interrupted him.
“I told you to let me talk to him.” Griean took Mac’s hand and walked out of the room. “Alphas. They want to control everything.”
A smile pulled at Mac’s lips, but it fell away when Griean pulled him to a stop in front of a closed door.
"Griean? I..."
“He’s in there. Go talk to him. If you don’t want to do it, it’s okay. No one will blame you. But I think you should talk to him. You might like him.”
