Fuck, he wanted that. He wanted that and more.

“What’s going on? You’re scaring me.”

Mac looked up at him and smiled.

“My brother found someone to share my heats. He wants me to come to the capital and meet him. He’s in heat right now, he needs an omega,” Mac said, still shocked.

What were the chances? It was rare for alphas to lack heat partners. Omegas threw themselves at alphas, not the other way around.

“What? And you’re going?” Jamue asked wide-eyed.

Was he thinking of another Faria moment?

Probably.

Mac was scared too. But he wasn’t going to allow fear to stop him. He wanted to experience what it felt like to be with an alpha once in his life.

“Yes.” Mac walked to his room. He had to pack.

“Just like that?”

“Yes. I want this. If Griean found someone who'll look past my...” he gestured to his entire body. “I’m happy.”

“But you don’t know this alpha. What’s his name?” Jamue followed him to his room. “After your experience with Faria, I think you should take your time and maybe get to know an alpha or beta before you jump into..."

"Sex?" Mac laughed. “I don’t have to know his name to fuck him.”

Jamue’s mouth hung open.

"Don't look so shocked. I have needs, and you do too."

“What about falling pregnant? Are you prepared to have a cub for a nameless alpha?”

“I won’t fall pregnant. I got a contraception chip before going to Faria.” Mac pointed to a black mark on his left arm. He wouldn’t get pregnant unless he removed the chip. And he wasn’t planning on doing that any time soon. “Everything is going to be fine.”

“Good. I hadn’t thought of that. But…” Jamue stared at him loftily, not ready to give in. “Are you so desperate to get a cock in your hole that you don’t care who this alpha is and what he looks like?”

“I don’t think I’m in any position to care what someone looks like. Have you looked at me?” Mac asked with a shake of his head. His long hair tumbled over his shoulder. He pulled it back, twisting it into a messy bun.

Jamue acted like they were the same. They were not. Alphas looked at him with desire in their eyes; they wanted him. Soon, he'd meet some alpha who'd sweep him off his feet, and Mac would be left alone.

No. He had to grab this opportunity.

“Don’t worry about me. I’ll be with my brother and his UA champion mate. Nothing bad is going to happen to me.”

“Mac, you're beautiful and amazing. Any alpha would be lucky to have you. Don’t compromise yourself because you believe there's no one out there for you. Someone is out there. I believe that. Say no if you don't like the alpha.”

Mac chuckled. “I’ll say no. I promise.”

Mac packed what he'd need in his packsack. Done, he turned to Jamue.

“I should take you back to the commune house.”

“No. I want to be here when they pick you up.” He stubbornly sat on the bed. Mac shook his head and sat next to him.

“You know I’ll always be your alpha, right?” He wrapped his arm around the omega.

Jamue nodded, even though he didn’t look happy. “You better tell him that.”
