“Is everything alright? I heard you growl.” He looked into the office to check on Dr Micha.
“I’m fine. Let’s go.” Deltta walked down the hallway. He made his way out of the health center to the parking dome. He got into the hover pod and waited for Maxus to catch up. He’d probably gone back to Dr Micha to ask about his crazy brother. Deltta sighed.
A few minutes later, Maxus walked down the line of parked pods. He got into the pod, and Deltta drifted out.
They drifted for a few minutes in silence, and then Maxus had to open his mouth.
Deltta clenched his jaw. He knew his brother meant well, but sometimes he needed him to shut the fuck up and let things go. But it seemed that day wasn’t today.
“We have to find you an omega. You can’t continue taking the sedative. Dr Micha said it’s not good for you.”
“I know what he said.”
“And?”
“And nothing. It’s my body, not yours,” Deltta bit out. He looked ahead, ignoring everything that came out of Maxus’ mouth. There was no way he was fucking an omega.
No.
What he wanted was to live his life in solitude. He could do it.
He just had to find a way to resign himself to the life fate had given him.
Thirty minutes later, he drifted to a stop in front of the alpha king’s house. The house was massive, with beautiful large windows that overlooked the airway. Maybe he should move out. The house was another reminder of what he’d lost.
Fuck, Deltta thought as he made his way inside.
“Master,” Yarr, the house manager, said as he walked through the door. The beta followed him to his leisure room. The room was once his office, but he turned it into a leisure room because he couldn’t see himself spending time in any other room. He walked to his lounge chair and dropped down in it.
Yarr poured him Red Amber, his favorite spirit. The spirit, like its name, was potent.
He handed him the glass.
Yarr served him as if he was still the master of the house, even though his brother was the alpha king now.
It sucked, but he couldn't control his actions.
Deltta took a sip of the spirit and hummed as it worked its way through him.
“Yarr, it’s too early in the day for him to be drinking. Stop indulging him,” Maxus said as he walked into the room.
Fuck, he hated it when he did that.
“Of course, master Kohle.” Yarr tried to take the glass away. Deltta let a growl rumble through him. “Maybe we make an exception for today.” He bowed and walked out of the room.
“Don’t abuse my stuff, brother.” Maxus came to a stop in front of him. His words hurt a little, but Deltta pushed the pain away. He wasn’t one to dwell on the past.
He took another sip of his drink.
“Are we going to talk about what Dr Micha suggested?” Maxus asked.
“We already talked about it in the pod, and I said no.”
“Fuck, Deltta.” Maxus pinched the bridge of his nose. “What do you want me to do? You’re making everything difficult.”
Deltta stared at him. He knew Maxus was having a tough time. Being the alpha king wasn’t easy.
Deltta got to his feet and stepped close to him.
