Neil scooted closer to Isaac. “This is a lot. Too much? I don’t want to push you too far.”
Isaac put an arm around his shoulders. “It’s…fast. But it’s not too much, it feels…well, that’s the thing.” Isaac shrugged. “I have to stop thinking so hard about this and start focusing on how it feels.”
Neil nodded. Guapo thought hard about everything, and this wouldn’t be any different. “Okay. So, how does it feel?”
“It feels right,” Isaac answered softly, maybe so Alain couldn’t hear. “I can’t explain why, but Alain feels like family. I really want this to work for us. And I’m so proud of you.” Isaac pressed lips to his temple and held them there for a minute.
He leaned in and let himself breathe, hanging there and feeling. Just feeling.
“I don’t think Alain’s work is done,” Isaac whispered after a bit. “One Dom to another.”
“No. No, I think he’s…” Was fragile the right word? He didn’t think so. “Scared to fail?”
Isaac nodded. “He doesn’t trust himself.” Alain hummed as he packed up dinner and made a lot of noise in the kitchen. He must have figured out they were trying not to be heard. “I’d like to work with him a little tomorrow, to get to know him. Not alone; you should join us, but I wanted to see how you…felt about that.”
He gave Isaac enough respect to think about it before he answered because he supposed he could get all possessive and weird. He had that in him.
Still, they’d been a pair for a long time, him and Isaac, and Alain was joining their weirdness. It seemed natural, more than worrisome.
“I think that’s the healthiest thing. If this works, it has to be the three of us, not sets of two of us.” Hopefully that made sense.
“I completely agree. Us should mean the three of us. We have work to do, on the dynamic, but I’m looking forward to that.” Isaac kissed him, and he felt nothing but truth in it.
And when Isaac deepened the kiss, he found himself leaning into it, letting himself melt a bit.
“Mmm. Who’s my good boy?” Isaac’s fingers slid around his back, pulling him closer.
He chuckled softly and moved onto Isaac’s lap. “Am I good? I try.”
He wasn’t good at it, but he tried.
“Okay, you try. You even succeed occasionally. It’s good to have you here though. That’s good, for sure.” Isaac leaned around him. “Dishes all done, little one?”
“Yes, Sir, Master Doctor Sir.” Alain cracked him up with the little, perky salute.
“All right.” Isaac looked at them both seriously. “So…Gilmore Girls or90 Day Fiancé?”
“90 Day,” Alain said immediately. “Makes me feel better about my life choices.”
Neil hooted. “Well, bring that on. We could all feel that way.”
“I’m glad I bought the bigger couch.” Isaac scooted him off his lap and picked up his beer. “I’m ready for a snuggle and to feel very good about myself.”
“Where do y’all want me?” Alain’s eyes were bright as a bird’s. “I’m little. I’ll squish right in.”
“Oh, I’m in the middle. I want to snuggle my boys tonight.” Isaac pointed to the couch. “One here, one there.”
Someone was in an amazing mood, and Neil fully intended to take advantage of it. He made sure Alain was settled and then plopped his happy ass down.
Isaac handed him the remote, set his beer down on the coffee table and sat, one arm around each of them. Neil felt the deep breath, then Isaac’s shoulders relaxed, and they all sank a little deeper into the couch. “Mhm. That’s perfect.”
Neil dialed up the trash TV, and they all hummed, the sound weirdly harmonious.
“Something to learn, Alain, since you’re going to be staying here… Neil is super possessive about the remote. Don’t even bother to pick it up, because he’ll snatch it and ask you what you’re looking for. Best to just let him have it so he doesn’t pout at you.”
“Good to know, Sir. I’m happy to let him drive.”
Neil nodded smugly. “Uh-huh. That’s right, Kitten.”
