“Alright.”
I grabbed our drinks and my plate and sat at my little kitchen bar.
I dipped one of the egg rolls in syrup, took a bite, and nodded.
“This is amazing,” I announced.
“Thank you.” Drix stopped the stove, grabbed his plate, and walked over to sit beside me.
“You know you don’t have to cook breakfast for me every morning, right?”
“I like doing it,” he countered. “And speaking of breakfast, you said it was good, so why you taking them small ass bites?”
“I’m not really hungry.”
“Well, you didn’t eat yesterday, so you need to eat today.” Drix reached over and softly grabbed me by the back of the neck. His thumb immediately traveled up and down my throat. “I’ll negotiate with you,” he offered.
“Negotiate with me?” I repeated.
“Yeah. Eat all your breakfast and I’ll eat you till you can’t take it anymore.”
“Oh yeah?”
“I promise. Clean your plate and I’ll clean every inch of your body with my tongue and let you ride my face until you can’t.” He smirked.
I nodded and plucked up my egg roll to take another bite.
“There we go.” Drix leaned in and kissed the side of my head.
I took another bite.
“Thank you for trying to look out for me,” I said quietly.
“I’ve got you, Yo.”
“Yeah, yeah.” I rolled my eyes with a smile and unlocked my phone to text Charm.
“What are you getting into today?”
“I don’t know,” I admitted. “I may see if I can write.” I took another bite. “Why? What’s up?”
“You can always come to the studio with me.”
“I thought you were done working on other people’s music.”
“I am. I’m supposed to be laying a track with Rome and Merch.”
“And you’re going to the actual studio to do that?”
“Yeah. Merch is Rome’s friend. Not mine.”
“You’re ridiculous,” I accused. “But I’ll come hang out at the studio.”
“A’ight, cool.”
He plucked up his phone and we ate a little bit in silence, each of us stuck in our phones.
“What are people saying about me?” I asked after a while.
