He laughs under his breath and kisses up my jawline. “But you love me anyway, right?”

When I don’t reply, he presses another soft kiss to my temple. “I’ll wait as long as you need me to. But you’re mine, Kenzie. You can be mad. You can hate me. But it doesn’t change that fact.” He kisses my lips this time. “Your cut arrived. It’s ready for you whenever you want to take your place as my old lady.” He tilts his head to the side, studying me. “Can I take you out for dinner tonight? I’ll come and get you at seven.” He winks at me and walks back to his bike.

Another forced date with Chance, except this one has me smiling to myself.

“You’d better have her home at a reasonable hour,” Cash tells his father with a straight face. “And no funny business. You haven’t earned that privilege.”

Chance shakes his head. “If I’m lucky, she won’t be coming home at all tonight.”

“She’ll be coming all right,” Cash mutters before he disappears, and I cover my face as I laugh.

“Little shit,” he murmurs in amusement, sharing a look with me. “How did I raise such a good kid?”

“A miracle?” I tease.

I wasn’t sure about going out with Chance tonight, and I’m still not, but I thought to myself, How would I feel if Chance listened to me and left me alone, moved on? Even the thought makes me feel sick.

It’s going to take a lot of work to get us back to where we were because he really did hurt me, both with Gia and Red, and he’s not going to get away with that so easily.

“So where are we going tonight?” I ask, standing next to his motorcycle.

“For a long ride. I’ve been dying to get you back on my bike.” He pauses and then adds, “And then dinner, and then I thought we could drop by the clubhouse. Everyone wants to see you. They miss you.”

Swallowing hard, I nod my head slightly. “Okay, I guess so.”

“If you change your mind, we don’t have to,” he assures me, lifting me on his bike and tilting my head back. “You look so beautiful. I’ve missed you so fucking much, Siren.”

He uses his thumb to trace my bottom lip, then pulls it down so he can kiss me properly.

I melt into him, missing this connection. He tastes like mint, sin, and the happiest time in my life.

“I said no funny business!” Cash calls out from the front door. We break apart with grins.

“There’s something I need to tell you tonight. It’s about when I claim you. And you can say no if you don’t want to do it, okay? I’m going to need you to be a little… open-minded.”

“Okay,” I reply, intrigued. “Full disclosure?”

“Full disclosure.”

He might be a Royal Bastard.

But he’s mine.

CHANCE

One Month Later

There’s a party at the clubhouse, but Kenzie has no idea that it’s all for her. I wanted to wait until I had won her back before I gave her the property cut, and we have both grown a lot over the last few weeks. I moved into her townhouse with her and Cash for now, but I’m building us a much bigger house on club property.

However, after tonight, she might want to kick me out again.

Our chapter alone has some very fucked-up traditions. After speaking with the other officers at church, they wanted to keep those traditions, and even though Kenzie gave me her consent, she still might fucking hate me after tonight.

Whistling to gain everyone’s attention, the music is turned down while everyone waits for me to speak. “All right, as some of you know, we’re celebrating for a reason tonight. Kenzie, baby, come up here, please.”

She shares a look with Freya before walking to me and standing at my side. She looks so fucking sexy with her tight black jeans and see-through glittery top, and I can’t wait to see her in my cut.
