“Oh my God. I can’t believe this,” I complained.

“You should’ve given me a kiss for good luck,” Zion said before pressing his lips against mine for a second time.

He grinned as he walked past me to take his turn. I looked at Knox and noticed a woman seated next to him. She was pretty and looked to be about my age, but not someone I would think was Knox’s type.

What am I talking about? I don’t know that nigga’s type.

I went back to my seat and couldn’t ignore the tinge of jealousy I felt. I didn’t know he was dating anyone, but that wasn’t something I should necessarily know.

“Your date is pretty.”

“Yeah, she is,” Knox responded before standing to take his turn.

My eyes were glued to his tall, muscular build. Zion was fine, but Knox was absolutely beautiful. His skin was a shade lighter than peanut butter, and I wanted to kiss every single one of his freckles. He sported a curly fade and a full beard, enhanced with a spot of gray.

His brows were broad and overpowered his deep-set eyes. When he looked at me, I swore he could see through me. I didn’t tell Nyomi, but I’d noticed Knox’s eyes on me plenty of times, but I pushed it to the back of my head because we wanted different things.

Knox returned to his seat after bowling a strike, and we passed each other when I went to take my turn. I had no idea what Zion had bowled because I was no longer focused on the game. I wasn’t sure why Knox being here changed my focus, but it did.

I tried to redirect my focus, and it worked some of the time. Thankfully, Zion didn’t notice I was paying more attention to the couple in the section next to us than to him. I watched Knox and his date interact, hoping to gauge how comfortable they were with each other.

It shouldn’t have mattered, because Knox and I had no future, but I couldn’t help but wonder if she was his girlfriend, or if they were just on a date like Zion and me.

“It’s the tenth frame, baby. What do I get if I let you win?” Zion asked, wrapping his arms around my waist and letting his hands slide down to my ass.

“I’m about to bowl a strike, so you won’t have to let me win, youngin.”

Somehow, I pushed Knox and his date to the back of my head, keeping the game respectable, and was only a few points behind Zion. Even if I bowled a strike, he’d have to get two gutter balls for me to win, which was very unlikely.

I pushed out of his arms and grabbed my ball, taking my time as I prepared to release. The miracle that took place over the next few minutes was shocking. I bowled three strikes in a row, scoring thirty points, putting me fifteen points ahead of Zion.

“Okay, baby. I see you. I think I need another kiss to?—”

“Aht aht!” I held my hand up to stop his lips from touching mine. “I’m not giving you any more good luck kisses to beat me. You’re on your own.”

Zion laughed. “That’s cold, baby. I guess I’ll have to win this on sheer talent.”

He walked past me, slapping my ass before picking up his ball. I watched as he prepared to release the ball. It looked like it would be a strike, but it veered to the left just before hitting the pins, leaving three pins standing.

I jumped up and down with excitement because the pins that stood were on the far left and right, and in the center. I was confident he wouldn’t pick up the spare . . . a little too confident.

When he hit the pin on the far right, and it slammed into the middle pin, which then bumped into the pin on the far left, I was ready to go home.

“Damn you, Zion!” I said jokingly.

He stood in front of me while waiting for his ball to return to the lift.

“Don’t be mad, beautiful. I’ll make it up to you,” he flirted.

My nipples got hard at the thought of what I knew he meant. I kept Zion around for a few reasons, and his dick was one of them, and his tongue was another. I suddenly didn’t care what the outcome of the game was. I was ready to go.

Zion’s dick would surely rid my mind of any thoughts of what Knox would be doing with his date when they left, . . . wouldn’t it?

“The nigga probably wasn’t thirty,”I told my brother, Kilo.

“Thirty ain’t that young. It’s less than ten years between them,” he countered.

“I’m being generous. I would’ve never thought she liked young ass boys.”
