He did deserve to live again. To experience love and pleasure, and all the other things he’d thought were lost to him forever.
And he wanted that for Sophie, too. He wanted to see her happy. Smiling and laughing...and he wanted to be the man by her side making her do those things and more.
I want to be the one to bring her to ecstasy. Over and over, again. Only me.
As far as Jason was concerned, she was his now. His to love. His to protect.
Mine.
The rhythm in which their bodies moved increased. His thrusts became stronger. More powerful.
And when he felt Sophie begin to tremble, ready to fall over the edge again, Jason was right there with her.
“Ah, fuck,” he growled. “Ah, yeah, baby. Just...like...that!”
He ground out her name as a mind-blowing climax shot its way through his system. Sophie cried out again, her body melting all around his for the second time.
By the time Jason returned to his euphoric state of bliss, he realized he was lying fully on top of her.
“Shit. Sorry.” He withdrew from her sensitive entrance, immediately missing the void her body had filled.
“That was...wow.” Sophie huffed out a satisfied breath.
With his eyes closed, Jason laid on his back and grinned. “Wow, is the perfect way to describe what that was.”
“We should’ve done that a long time ago.”
His grin turned into a full-blown chuckle. “Agreed.” He turned onto his side. “Except, in a way, I think our timing is perfect.”
“How so?” She faced him, too.
“I don’t know. I guess I believe everything happens for a reason. At least, I used to believe that.”
“I think so, too. And I think”—she scooted across the bed toward him—“if we’d done this sooner, it probably would’ve been a one-off. A way to release stress or blow of steam. So, I’m glad this happened now. Like this.”
“So there’ll be a second time?” He knew the answer but felt compelled to ask.
“And a third.” She gave him a soft kiss. “And a fourth.” Sophie rubbed her cheek along the soft stubble of his beard.
“You’re shooting mighty low there, Doc.”
“Yeah?”
Jason dipped his chin. “I’m thinking triple digits. At least.”
“Triple?” Sophie’s eyes widened with a smirk. “That could take a while, Agent Ryker. Are you sure you’re up for that?”
“I’m sure.” He kissed the tip of her nose before bringing his lips to hers. “I’m in this for as long as you’ll have me.”
“Careful what you offer there, mister. I might have to keep you around just to see how long you can last.”
“That sounds like a challenge.”
Sophie smiled wide. “Maybe it is.”
“Well.” Jason pulled her into his arms and held her close. “I’ve always loved a good challenge.”
