“Nothing. Not a single thing, and Lorenzo’s out, checking to see if she came through, or if she went via train.Do you think she’s okay?”

“I can only hope she’s okay right now.I can’t believe she ran.I mean, it makes no sense.”

“She told me she tried with Emilio, and after all the lies, she doesn’t know what truth is anymore.”

Liana sighed.“I spoke to Mia, and she hasn’t heard anything either.”

“Will Tatiana be in trouble if she’s, well, you know, run away?”

“I honestly don’t know.If they find her, I think it will all be okay,” Liana said.“How are you?How is everything with you?”

“Oh, it’s good, like, really good.I think.”

“That’s good,” Liana said with a giggle.

Clarissa joined her.“We’re actually talking and while he’s busy right now, I do miss him.”

“That is good news,” Liana said.

She looked straight ahead at the suit that was nearly complete. She’d been in her sewing room, looking across the room, wondering if she should sew on the final button.Once that was done, it was complete.

“How are you and Diego?”

“He’s dealing with business, so I’m watching over our son right now, and he’s sleeping.”

That explained the hushed tones.

“And motherhood, how is that?”Clarissa asked.

“It’s awesome,” Liana said.“Giving birth, not so much.I don’t know who told women that the moment the baby was put in your arms, you’d feel nothing, but they don’t know what they’re talking about. My vagina didn’t magically take a painkiller.”

Clarissa laughed.“But you love your son.”

“Yeah, I love my son.How are things with you and Lorenzo on that score?I mean, you don’t have to tell me anything if you don’t want to.”

“We’re getting to know each other a little more, and it’s really good. It’s nothing like the wedding night, or the months after.”

“Months after?Did he, like ...force you?”Liana asked.

She didn’t like hearing the judgey sound from her friend and immediately attempted to put her at ease.

“No, no, it’s nothing like that.Nothing like that at all. It’s just, uh, how do I put this?It wasn’t necessarily painful, but it also wasn’t good.I’m not doing well at describing this.”She winced and rubbed at her temple.“I don’t know, I think we’ve been able to talk more, and it has helped with our communication. That is what is different.”She tried to smile, but talking about this stuff, even with her friend, was so hard.

Liana laughed.“I’m sorry.I just thought you’d want someone to talk to.”

“I do, I mean, of course I do.I just, I’m not used to this.”

“Is your face like bright red right now?”

Clarissa laughed, and there was no need to look in the mirror. One touch to her face, and she knew it was bright red, as it was already hot to the touch.

“So, you guys talk about everything.”

“I’m going to hang up now.”

“If you get any news or if Tatiana calls you, let me know.”

“Will do.”
