Pushing away from the door, I walk to the bed and sit on the edge. “It’s all clear. Although, if we don’t show our faces soon, I’m sure Pippa will barge in here demanding answers.”

While I was giving Lily her things, Alyssa slipped on the t-shirt I’d given her to sleep in. The hem of the shirt is barely covering her pussy, and my mouth waters at the sight. My dick twitches to life. How can I want her again so much after everything we did last night? The answer comes quickly. Because I’ll never get enough of her. And it doesn’t scare the crap out of me.

Taking Alyssa’s hand in mine, I link our fingers together. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell Lily about us. It wasn’t the right time. Not with Pippa around. Can we give it a little time before we tell her? I’ve never brought a woman home. I need to figure out the best way to go about this.”

She gives my hand a squeeze. “This is new and unexpected. I still need to wrap my head around it too. It’s too soon to tell Lily. We don’t know yet how we are going to work together. We are phenomenal in bed,” she says with a cheeky grin, “but we might hate each other in two days. We didn’t start off liking each other too much.” She laughs.

That’s because I was scared of her. Scared of any feelings I had. Thank God I’ve pushed past my insecurities and have taken what I want. This is not a two-day relationship. I want forever. I keep that to myself in case I frighten her away.

“I’d say after last night, we like each other a lot more.” I release her hand and trail my fingers along her inner thigh, sliding them beneath the t-shirt. Floating them over her bare pussy, I gently stroke her folds. On a low, soft moan, her eyes flutter closed.

“We should get ready for the workshops.” Her voice is raspy.

I push a finger inside. “They’re not expecting us yet.”

She drops her head back on the headboard. “They might wonder where we are and start talking.”

“You’re sick. There’s nothing to talk about.” My thumb circles her clit.

“I’m feeling better now,” she pants.

Adding more pressure to her clit, I say, “Are you sure? You’re looking a little flushed.” Getting to my knees, I lift her t-shirt up to expose her tits. Her rosy, pink nipples are erect, waiting for my attention. I lick my tongue over one and then over the other. “I think we should make sure you’re feeling one-hundred percent before we venture out.” I suck a nipple into my mouth.

She threads her fingers through my hair, clasping on tight. “If you insist.”

Chapter Twenty

ALYSSA

Two days after the dance workshop, I’m finally spending time with Hayden. We’re using Lily’s private lesson to sneak some time in. Hopefully we can tell Lily soon and we won’t have to hide our relationship anymore.

How will she take the news? Will she be happy? She seems to like me, but that’s as a ballet teacher. It might change when she learns I’m her dad’s girlfriend. It has always been just the two of them. I’d hate to upset her if this is not what she wants.

God, it’s what I want. It’s the last thing I thought I needed. My career was my focus. Nothing was getting in the way of that. Yet Hayden is consuming my mind. I’m bursting out of my skin with excitement to see him. After our night at the workshop, I’m floating on air.

Before I head over to his house, I stop at my apartment to freshen up after class. On my way to the bathroom, my phone rings. I glance at the caller ID. My mother. I don’t want to talk toher today; she’ll only pop my happy bubble I’ve been living in the past two days. Ignoring the call, I toss the phone on the bed. It stops ringing. A second later, it starts again. I pick the phone up and answer. What if it’s important?

“Hey, Mom. What’s up?”

“Have you been on any auditions lately?”Pop. I crash to the ground.

I pinch the bridge of my nose. Why did I have to answer the call? “I’m fine thanks, Mom. How are you?” Sarcasm drips from the words.

I hear an annoyed scoffing sound. “How are you, Alyssa? How is your ankle?”

Dropping to the edge of the bed, I shake my head. Of course she’d ask about the ankle. That’s all she cares about. The injury has put a hold on my career. She doesn’t care how I’m doing. Why do I let this still bother me? I should know my career is her number one concern.

“It’s better,” I say. “There’s hardly any pain.”

“Excellent. That means you can get back at it.”

“Yes, I can. I’m sure The Temple will be happy to have me back,” I lie. I haven’t heard from them since I called them about the injury. They’ve no doubt replaced me by now. Their loyalty to their employees isn’t the best. You don’t work for a couple of nights, and there’s always someone who will take your place.

“Alyssa Martinez. When are you going to stop working there? It’s beneath you and embarrassing for our family. What if someone we know sees you dancing there?”

“I didn’t know you had friends who visited The Temple. People like that arebeneath you.” Why do we always have this conversation? I hear a heavy sigh. Before she can lecture me about my choices in life, I say, “Is there any other reason you’re calling, Mom? I need to jump in the shower, I have planstonight.” I’m finally seeing Hayden. My heart flips in my chest every time I think of him.

“Yes, Christina is performing inSwan Lakeat the American Ballet Theatre. We’re flying in from Paris to watch. Your father is expecting you to join us. All our friends are attending. The family must attend to show support. We are extremely proud of her.”
