I answered with an affirmative sound in the back of my throat.

“Nice. What’s your shop?”

We got lost in a conversation while we showered. I’d learned a lot about Robby in the ten minutes it took to wash off the sweat and grime from a hard workout. By the time we got back into the locker room, Addy and Rocky were waiting for the group, so we quickly dressed and settled on the benches.

“Rocky and I want to thank everyone for trying out.” Addy clutched a tablet between his palms, an apologetic smile curving his full lips. “As you all know, not everyone will get a position on our team. We’ve already got a great lineup and needed some extras.”

The guys around the room nodded. I scrubbed my hands over my face. Part of meknewI was the best one out there and it wasn’t ego. Still, concern flickered through me. I needed this. I was flying out on the ice and didn’t want to give this up.

Not again.

And how would I face KC and Oliver if I was cut before I even began? I’d never live it down. They would be upset on my behalf, but I wouldn’t be able to live with myself.

Addy cleared his throat. “We’ve chosen three guys today. Kyle Robinson. Anthony Mitchell. Renshaw Booth.” He lowered the tablet. “Thanks to everyone else for trying out.”

Relief swamped me and I groaned, letting my head rock back against the locker behind me.

Beside me, Robby laughed. “Relieved?”

“Fuck yeah. You’re Robinson, right?” I stood and snatched up my bag that I’d shoved my protective gear in and my hockey stick as everyone but the three of us filed out of the room.

“Yeah. I guess I’m gonna be a D-man for the Bladezillas. What a name, right?” Robby poked out his tongue from between his teeth.

Addy strode over to us. “I thought it was clever when I came up with it.”

“Ah.” Robby fumbled with his bag strap and it slipped off his shoulder. “It is, man. It’s awesome.”

Addy cackled and slapped him on the shoulder. “No problem. I’m teasing you. It’s shit, but I still thought it was hilarious.” He glanced around as the other guy—Mitchell—joined us. “Welcome to the Homeward Bladezillas. At the next practice we’ll talk strategy and you can meet the entire team. We start tomorrow and our first game is Wednesday night. Anyone have an issue with that?”

We shook our heads.

“Be here at ten in the morning.” His captain voice came through sharp and commanding, but he smiled. “Good to have you on the team, boys.” He gave us each a bump with his fist before he and Rocky left.

I hauled my bag strap onto my shoulder and left with Robby. Mitchell moved ahead of us with the speed of someone who wanted to get out of here, so we didn’t stop him. We’d get to know him better tomorrow.

KC and Oliver were waiting outside the rink, standing in front of Aria as they continued to talk and laugh. At some point the rain had stopped and the sunlight gleamed down on them, and I took in the sight of Oliver in my Blue Demons jersey—even if it was partially hidden by my leather jacket. My mouth watered. I loved seeing him totally owned by me in my clothing.

KC made the entire situationharder. He’d taken his hoodie off and the shirt he wore clung to his pecs in the most delicious way. His cheeks were bright against his pale skin and matched his red hair.

By themselves? My boyfriends were hot. Together, they were downright sinful. I was one lucky motherfucker.

I subtly arranged my chubbing cock. If Robby noticed, he didn’t say a thing, but I suspected he was too busy being enraptured by his partner—though I wasn’t sure if she was a wife or fiancée.

“Aria, baby!” Robby walked faster, and I moved to keep up. He crashed into Aria, and she laughed as he gave her a sloppy kiss. His palms slid down the curves of her wide hips and settled around on her ass. “I’m on the team, baby.”

“Congrats. I’m so happy for you.”

I smiled and reached KC and Oliver. “I’m in. I’m a Bladezilla.”

“Great!” KC came in for a kiss first, and I laid my lips gently against his. He tasted like mints. Then, Oliver was next, but instead of coming at me with softness, he launched himself at me and smashed his lips against mine. I huffed in surprise but kissed him dutifully. The flavor of chocolate hit my taste buds and I hummed in pleasure.

“I didn’t think you enjoyed hockey that much,” I murmured against his mouth, eyebrows raised.

“He liked it alotwhen it was you on that ice,” KC said, snuggling in deeper against me. His firm build was heavy along my side, a comforting weight that made me tug him in even farther until his hip was pressed flat against mine.

I nuzzled his cheek and kissed it. “What did you think?”

“Eh, not as hot as watching football.” Mischief sparkled in his eyes.
