My lips twitched at the way Ash punctuated his tales with dramatic gestures. I think I could listen to him for the rest of my life and never get bored.
“Do you live around here?”
I inclined my head. “Aye. Highfield Avenue. You?”
“Huh. I’m on Oakmount.”
Two streets away from me. “Curious how we’ve never met before.”
“I haven’t lived there long.” For the first time, Ash wasn’t looking at me as he spoke, his gaze on the streets whipping by. “Only a few months.”
“Where’d you live before?”
“Ocean Village.”
His clipped answer told me this was a sore subject for him. “Well, how convenient that ye live close now. I can walk home later.”
We pulled up alongside the curb and Ash shot me a wink. “That’s assuming I let you leave.”
The sight of his taut rear,as he got out of the car had me momentarily frozen as the nerves from earlier reappeared.
“You getting out, mate? I’ve got another fare waiting.”
I shook myself, throwing an apology to the driver before chasing Ash up the path. He was smiling, but the way he was fluttering his hands gave him away. “Sorry, that was too much, wasn’t it.”
Seeing his anxiety had my own nerves settling and my confidence returning. Ash was what was most important here. He’d clearly not been appreciated in the past.
I was sure as shit going to appreciate him now.
With a low growl, I crowded close until his back hit the door. My arms boxed him in, my body towering over his. “No, bràmair. Nothing ye can say to me will ever be too much. In fact, it’s probably best you lay down some boundaries now. Because once I get you on the other side of this door, I’m not going to want to stop.”
Ash stared up at me in disbelief. Then I felt a sharp pinch on my side.
“Ow,” I said with a jump. It hadn’t actually hurt, but it had startled me. “What was that for?”
“Sorry,” Ash squeaked. “Just checking you’re real and that this isn’t a dream.”
I leaned closer, letting my nose brush against his. “Shouldn’t you have been pinching yourself?”
“No, I know I’m real. You’re the one who’s appeared like you’ve been created from my fantasies. I call bullshit.”
I chuckled, our mouths tantalisingly close. “I’m taking that as a good sign. Maybe Cupid really does know what he’s doing.”
“Here’s hoping.”
Ash’s lips ghosted against mine and it took every ounce of my self-control not to claim them. I’d meant it though, we needed to establish things straight up.
Because somehow I knew that once I’d got a taste of Ash, I wasn’t going to want to stop.
“Boundaries?” I reminded him, keeping a centimetre between our lips.
“Don’t know her,” he said breathily, craning up to try and close the gap.
I smirked, pulling back slightly. “You must have some limits.”
Ash dropped flat on his feet with a huff. “Fine. No bodily fluids aside from cum and blood. If you’re into it.”
My cock throbbed in response. I had to swallow twice before I could get my voice out. “I think I’m into that.”
