“What do you mean? Didn’t we find that out last night?”
“That scratch is nothing from what your dad’s going to do to me.”
She lifted up her head, almost busting my chin open. “You’re going to tell my dad?”
“I can’t lie to him, I respect him too much. I’m not playing games, little girl. When I said I’m in, I meant it.”
She chewed on her lip. I would’ve given up the club to know what she was thinking. “Well, I guess both of us have some shit to do today.”

“Boss, are you listening?” Rhodie asked.
I shook my head, getting my mind back into the meeting. I kept daydreaming about Angel, and the kiss she left me with when I walked her to her car. She left shortly after breakfast, saying she needed to go see Blake. I didn’t like her going alone, but I knew my girl could handle the uncomfortable talk. And if he gave her any shit, it wouldn’t take much convincing to kick his ass.
For added security, I had a new prospect tailing her. I told him to be discreet. Angel would be pissed if she knew I put a tail on her, but that was something she’d have to get used to. I protected what’s mine, and she was definitely mine. I’d just have to make her see reason.
Speaking of uncomfortable talks, I was going to have to pull Satan aside and tell him about me and Angel right after this meeting. He was going to kick my ass. I wasn’t looking forward to it, especially with my leg throbbing.
“Yeah, I’m listening. Is there anything else that needs to be discussed? I have some shit to do.”
“Actually.” Rhodie looked around the room.
The hairs on the back of my neck stood up at the hesitancy Rhodie displayed. “What?”
“Remember that shit you wanted me to figure out for you?”
I sat up straighter. Someone had been skimming off the new body shop. I sent Rhodie out to investigate, and it looked like he sniffed out the rat.
Donald shifted in the back of the room. He didn’t look too happy, his eyes roamed around, and the rat was out. “Donald, do you have something you want to say?” I asked without Rhodie telling me.
“Nah, I’m good.” The shit face disrespected me in front of my crew.
“I’m going to give you one more chance. I promise not to kill you if you come clean, but if you don’t.” I didn’t finish the sentence. I stood up bracing my hands on the table.
“Fuck you. This club is nothing but a bunch of pussies, and it’s not going to last long anyway. There are stronger forces and they’re going to take over soon. Just wait.”
Everyone shifted, all of them wanting the honors to kill the bastard.
“This club is a group of loyal men who can kill you with one punch. I’d be careful what the fuck you say in front of them, or I won’t be the only one killing you.”
Donald snorted. “Loyal? How loyal can you be when you’re fucking your second’s daughter behind his back?”
“Shut the fuck up. You snot nosed little shit. We don’t spread rumors like god-damned high schoolers.” Satan stood, his face red under his beard.
I slammed my fist into Donald’s stomach. He doubled over, but he still smirked. I didn’t like it. I grabbed his hair and smashed his face into my knee taking that fucking grin with it. If it wasn’t for the need to deal with Satan, I would’ve killed him right there. “Get him the fuck out of here. Put him in another room I’ll deal with him later. Everyone go.”
The room exploded with movement. Donald was struggling to get away, but he was locked in tight. Stupid fucker should’ve kept his mouth closed.
Satan stood across the table from me. He searched my face, his whole-body tense. “Tell me that little shit was lying.”
I swept my hand through my hair. “I was going to tell you today.”
Satan was in front of me in a second, his fist plowed into my jaw. I stood there as he landed another one in my stomach. “She’s too good for you.” His fist landed in my stomach again.
“I know.”
“Fight back,” Satan said, backing away, his fists poised in front of him.
