Her tears finally fell. I wanted to drop to my knees and beg her to stop crying. I wanted to kiss every square inch of her body until tears were the last thing on her mind, but every thing I’d mentioned was a reason I needed to stay away. And even though the thought of another man claiming her made me mental, I knew it was the right thing for her, and the club.

It sucked being the president.

“Fine, you don’t want to be with me. I’m too young, and immature. I’m done, Demon. Let me by.”

She still didn’t understand. As much as I knew I shouldn’t, I was going to try and explain it to her, again.

“Angel, what would the club think if they saw me following some chick who’s fifteen years younger than me around like a lovesick puppy dog? What would your dad think seeing you on my lap, wearing my cut? And what would my rivals do seeing you on my arm?”

“Why the hell do you care what anyone thinks about you? If you want something, be a man and go after it. The hell with whatever anyone else thinks.”

Hardheaded stubborn ass girl.

“And what about your dad? What do you think he’s going to say when he finds out I’m fucking his daughter?”

Her body shivered when I mentioned fucking her, and my cock pulsed in my pants, wanting to see what other reaction I could get out of her.

“Well, being that this is my life and not his, he should understand that my choices are mine. And he raised me to be smart enough to go after what I want.”

“No, he’d want to string me up by the balls, and I’d let him. You’re too good for this world. I wouldn’t be able to keep you safe. I’d constantly have to worry about you. And believe me, he wouldn’t want you in this life either.”

“I’ve been in this world my whole life,” She screamed. “I was born in this goddamn life, don’t act like I’m some stuck-up princess. Hell, when I was little I could fix a motorcycle better than you.”

“You are a princess, and you should be treated like one. You don’t need to get caught up in this shit. I know you think you can handle it, but you don’t have to. Like I said, the rival gangs think they can come in right now. You wouldn’t be safe if they thought I had feelings for you. You have your whole life ahead of you. Go get married. Get out of this life.”

My head was spinning, and it had nothing to do with the alcohol. She was being stubborn, and not listening to reason. I was about to resort to my old tactics of being an asshole to get her to storm out of my life where she’d be safe.

Where my nightly dreams would morph into killing the asshole that put a ring on her finger and fucking her until she couldn’t even remember the dickface’s name.

At that moment I could barely keep myself from showing her just how much I wanted her against the wall, the couch, the floor, and anywhere else I could take her. I needed to end this fast.

“You act like you don’t have your whole life ahead of you. You act like you’re an old man. You’re only thirty-eight for god’s sake.”

“And you’re twenty-three. You don’t want me, Angel. You’re better than this. Forget about me. I’m just some image you created in your parents’ likeness, or some dirty biker secret you want to keep you warm at night. It’s not going to work. It never would, and it never will.”

“How dare you. You aren’t some square on a bingo card to check off, and you know it. I wanted you, and you continued to refuse me. Your excuses are pathetic. Stop making decisions for me. Let me decide what I want.”

“This is my life too, and I’m in charge of a whole lot of others as well. I can’t be with you, Angel. I can’t think about you as much as I do. I’m a danger to you, and you’re a danger to me. It wouldn’t work, and I’m not fucking up what I have with this club, with your dad, to find out what we both know. I can’t want you the way I want you.”

“So, you really want me now, huh?” Her hands landed on her waist.

Tits thrust out.

Sexy as fuck.

“I’ve always wanted you. Is that what you want to hear?” I raked my hands through my hair. Why did I have to go to her bar tonight? I should’ve avoided her, and then she’d be married, effectively removing her from my life.

I growled at the thought of her getting married, but life wasn’t fair.

“I want to hear the truth right now, Demon. I’m out of here if you don’t tell me the truth.”

I’d just fucking told her the truth. Now she wouldn’t listen. What the fuck.

She grabbed her purse on the floor ready to storm out of my apartment. Now that she’s pushed me to admit I wanted her, she wanted to leave.

Not happening.

“I want you Angel. It’s always been you. It’s just not going to happen.”
