He kissed my ankles and then up my shins. My calves. Knees. Thighs. I was ready to explode by the time his tongue slid over my center.

“Colt!”

“I’ve got you.”

I stopped trying to be quiet. My back arched off the bed, my fingers fisting in the sheets as I struggled to hold on to consciousness. It was too good. He worked slowly, reading every sound I made, adjusting, learning. He always did this. Made me feel like the only thing in the world that required his full attention. Like nothing else existed outside of this room, this bed, this moment.

The tension built in long, rolling waves and I felt myself coming undone from the inside out, my thighs trembling and my head rolling back and forth as I struggled to stay together.

“Please,” I breathed.

He delivered. I cried out so loud I hoped Becca didn’t hear me next door. I exploded into a million bursts of light. My back arched so hard, I feared I might snap in two. His arms settled across my stomach to anchor me as he took me through one wave after another.

He moved up the length of my body, his weight settling warm and solid over me. I reached between us, wrapped my hand around his engorged cock, and pulled him to where I needed him. His hand laced through my other hand against the pillow. He rose up, supporting his weight on one arm.

“Look at me,” he demanded.

My eyes felt heavy but I managed to open them and stare directly into his eyes as he pushed inside me. A low moan slid past my lips as he seated himself inside me. I saw the love in his eyes as he moved in and out.

His lovemaking was deep and unhurried, like the kiss on the beach. Like a conversation. His body telling me just how much he loved me. His mouth found my ear and he said my name again. I turned my face into his neck and held on. The candles threw soft shadows across the ceiling. The music drifted from the speaker in the ceiling. I was aware of every point where his skin met mine.

He shifted his weight, changed the angle, and I gasped against his shoulder.

“There?” he asked.

“Yes. Don’t stop.”

He didn’t stop. The pace built gradually, his breathing deepening, his grip on my hand tightening. His raspy breath moved across my face. I pressed my free palm flat against hisback and felt the rippling muscle. He lifted his head and looked at me.

“I love you,” I said. It came out wrecked. Half a breath.

“I love you.” He pressed his forehead back to mine. “My wife.”

That word. That word undid me completely.

The wave crested and broke. I pulled him closer and let it, his name a chant on my lips. Every muscle in my body releasing at once. He followed seconds later, his breath ragged against my neck, his whole body shuddering and then going still and heavy above me.

It was one of those experiences I knew I would never forget. We’d had sex plenty of times and there would be a lot more in our future but tonight was one time I would cherish forever.

He pressed a kiss to my temple. Then my cheekbone. Then the corner of my mouth.

“I’m so not done with you,” he said.

“I like the sound of that.”

“Just think,” he murmured against my neck. “We have an entire lifetime to do this anytime we want.”

I laughed. “I think there might be some restrictions, but I get the idea.”

“I love you,” he said. “Truly.”

“I love you.”
