I glance over at the mirrored wall, watching as he thrusts into me, shunting me up the bed, his muscles taut. It’s one of the hottest things I’ve ever seen, watching him fuck me like he means it, using my body to drag out his own pleasure. His cock slips almost all the way out of me before thrusting back in again, over and over. It’s exactly what I wanted. What I needed.

His hips jerk as his approaching climax knocks him off his rhythm, and he lets out an animalistic roar as he spills into the condom. This gorgeous man coming undone with his dick inside me is too much to bear, and I reach between my legs, touching myself until another trembling orgasm cascades through my body. It’s just as intense as those that came before, and my legs tremble and shake. When the shockwaves fade, I collapse on the bed, him on top of me, and for all my protestations of wanting only one night, of never seeing him again, of not wanting to know his name, I don’t want him to move. I feel safer right here beneath him than I’ve felt anywhere else in longer than I can remember.

An illusion, surely. The rush of hormones. The orgasms. It’s nothing more than that.

“Guess you don’t need eye contact then,” I mumble into the sheets.

He gives a rough laugh, pulls out of me and rolls onto his back beside me, his chest bellowing. “I could fuck you any way you want.” He starts unrolling the condom, then props himself up suddenly. “Shit.”

“What?”

“I meant to pull out and come on your face.” He curses again and flops down next to me. “I suppose you’ll have to remain a beautiful stranger.”

Those words warm me in a way they shouldn’t. “You don’t know I’m beautiful. You can’t see me properly.”

He stares at the ceiling. “Oh, I know you’re beautiful.” He glances over at me to add, “It’s probably best I don’t see, because if I do, I won’t want to let you go.”

Something unsettling coils in my gut, and I lever up on an elbow. “Don’t do that.”

“What?”

“Make out you’d ever want more than one night with me.”

He rolls onto his side, giving me his full attention. “Why wouldn’t I?”

“Because I’m the random woman in a sex club. And you’re the random stranger. There is no morning after here. There is just this. Now. Tonight. And that’s okay. It’s what I wanted. What I needed. Besides, it’s one of my rules: no repeats.” I blow out a breath. “So if you don’t have it in you to come again, I should go.”

I shuffle off the bed, even though all I want to do is nestle in his arms and fall asleep. I don’t know why I want it, because it’s not something I’ve ever wanted or had before. For all the men I’ve slept with, I didn’t have that kind of relationship with any of them. I never wanted to dothat. Too vulnerable. Toosoft. I’m not giving that side of me to anyone, because that’s the breakable part.

He leaps off the bed, pulling the condom off and throwing it in the bin. “Wait.” He reaches for me, then reconsiders, letting his hand fall. “Stay. Let me tie you to the bed, fuck your mouth and come on your face.” I don’t reply, and he adds, “Please.”

I hesitate. “Don’t be nice.”

A gorgeous smile breaks over his face. He glides a hand up my arm, and goosebumps scatter over my skin. “Did that soundniceto you?”

“It did, actually.” I stroke his chest, which is deliciously firm, pausing to run a thumb over his peaked nipple before descending over those taut abs, right down to where his dick is already hardening again. I fist it and drag my hand upwards, and as it thickens, he groans. “If you want me to stay,” I continue, “don’t give me any of that good girl shit. Fuck my mouth like you hate me and hate that you want me.”

His eyebrows rise before flexing together. Maybe roleplay isn’t in his remit. He might rut like a champ and have a body like a sex god, but it appears that something about what I’ve said, or how I’ve said it, has surprised him.

I don’t have a moment to process it before he lifts me and tosses me onto the bed, where I land amongst dark sheets with a soft thump. He takes hold of the chain-linked cuffs attached to the sides of the bed and fixes my wrists to one on either side.

I tug on one of them. “You know your way around.”

“I’m a quick learner. Also, it was like fuckingJingle Bellsearlier. Probably better to use them.” I bite back a giggle, and he steps back to admire his work. Parting my legs, I give him a full view. His eyes close on the slightest shake of the head. “I can’t believe you’ll give me this but not your name,” he mutters, and it sounds as if it’s more for him than me. He’s not reproachful, but disbelieving.

“This is all new for you, isn’t it?” I ask.

He shoots me a look, wary at first, but then his lips tip into a smile. “I’ve never slept with someone without knowing their name beforehand.”

The air takes on a potency, and although I don’t really know him, it feels for a moment like I do.

“I’m glad I get to be the first then,” I say.

He’s quiet. “The only.”

My heart twists, a squeeze behind my ribs. I’ve never been anyone’sonly, and it’s not supposed to happen here, in Delirium, on masquerade night.

Brushing the thought aside, I get back to business, lifting my hips in silent invitation.
