I want to continue. I want us to keep going, and wherever we end up, I’m here for the ride.
Jeez. Who am I? Certainly not Wren Lyons. Not the girl who always wanted to be perfect, the girl who had, at one point in time, been saving herself for marriage. I don’t recognize myself, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, is it? Life changes you. The people you come in contact with change you. There’s no point in holding onto yesterday.
I bring my lips to his ear and whisper, “I don’t want to stop.” It’s about as bold as I can be, but my meaning is clear. Kissing him is nice and all, yes; I could do it all night, but honestly I want more.
The hands on my back move to cup my face, and Reese still grins at me like I’m the prize he’s been waiting for his whole life. “Then maybe we should abandon this movie and take things upstairs?” Still a question, an offer, one I could theoretically refuse. He’s leaving the choice in my hands.
There is no choice. No either-or. There’s only one thing I can say to him, and it’s “Take me upstairs.”Take me upstairs and make me yours.
I don’t need to repeat myself. He kisses me again, just a short, fast kiss, and then he moves his hands beneath my butt. He stands, picking me up in one smooth motion, and I cling to him as he carries me through his house.
Up the stairs we go, turning into what must be his bedroom. The man must like dark colors. As soon as he turns on the lamp on the nightstand, I see dark wooden furniture, along with steel gray-colored sheets. They’re soft and comfortable, and even the mattress below feels like home.
He sets me down on the bed, and my legs hang off the sides. He leans over me, nuzzling against my neck before placing a heated kiss in the crook of it. “How crazy do you want to get tonight?” Out of everything he could have asked right then, that’s the last thing I’m expecting, and yet my reply is immediate.
“Surprise me.”
Seriously, who am I?
Reese pulls away from me, and he goes to his closet. I watch, wondering what it is he’s going to get. Clothes are typically the only thing in closets. Are we going to role play? I admit, not something I would have pegged him for, but when it comes to this fine man, I am down for whatever his heart desires.
Whatever it is, it has to be fun, and knowing that I’m doing it with Reese will make it even more exciting.
He kneels down once the closet door is open, and he fetches something out of what looks like a box. With it in his hand, he returns to me, standing in front of me as he runs his fingers along the object.
What is it? Not an outfit. No, but my breath catches all the same.
It’s a blindfold. A black blindfold—and I don’t mean that in a it’s-really-a-sock way. No, I mean it’s a legitimate blindfoldwhose purpose is to wrap around someone’s eyes and render their vision useless.
Or maybe tie someone’s hands together, depending on the mood. Either way, I had no idea Reese was so kinky.
I mean, that is a kink, isn’t it? Can’t say it’s something I’ve ever done before for reasons that should be more than clear, but like I said, I’m down. I’m so down.
“Is that for my wrists or for my eyes?” I make a joke, and the man before he grins hard.
“Do you have a preference?” When I only shrug, he steps forward, between my knees, and takes my chin in his free hand, angling my face back. “As much as I’d love to tie you up, I have something else in mind right now.”
Ah, so blindfold it is.
He brings the blindfold to my face, and after he carefully tucks my hair behind my ears, he puts it on me and ties it behind my head. The fabric is soft yet thick. It covers my eyebrows all the way down to the bridge of my nose, not letting me see a thing out of it. Losing my sight is not something I’m used to, and that’s why I tense a little bit when I suddenly feel Reese’s mouth on mine again.
“Relax,” he purrs out. “Enjoy every sensation. If you give in to it, everything will feel more… elevated. Every touch—” He runs his fingertips along my collarbone. “—every kiss.” He presses his lips against the side of my neck, causing me to sharply inhale. “Everything. Let me worship you tonight.”
No way in heck could anybody say no to something like that.
Reese takes me by the hand and pulls me to my feet, and though I can’t see what he’s doing, I can feel it all. First thing’s first: he undresses me. My shirt and bra come off, then everything below the waist. Soon enough I’m standing between him and his bed in nothing but that blindfold.
My heart beats rapidly in my chest, and I struggle to keep my breathing under control. The moment his hands find my bare body, I shiver. Those hands roam along me, taking in every curve, every inch of my bared flesh, and I hear his chest rumble in what must be satisfaction.
“You are unbelievably beautiful,” he croons, and maybe it’s the blindfold, but I believe him. He touches me like I’m something precious, like he’s an explorer who just set out on the expedition of his life. “I’ve wanted this, wanted you, for so long, Wren, so much longer than I should have. Waiting to have you has been nothing short of torture.”
Is he admitting he wanted me last semester? I should be startled or something, right? I’m not, though, mostly because I’d be lying if I claim I didn’t look forward to seeing him in class. There were many days when watching him lecture got me through my troubles with Logan, and that’s not to mention how helpful he was after the accident. I don’t know what I would’ve done if he wouldn’t have been there that night.
“And now,” he whispers, “you’re all mine.” Just the way he says those words makes them sound so final, like there’s no room for argument. If he says I belong to him, then I belong to him. He has the power here, not me, and I am so here for it.
He helps me onto the bed, gets me into a comfortable position. I lay on my back, with my head on his pillow, and I feel him crawl onto the bed with me. His hands travel up my legs, to my inner thighs, and though he touches me with a smooth, quiet confidence, I still tremble in anticipation of what he’s going to do next.
Being blindfolded really puts the edge on things, huh? It stops you from watching, from thinking, forces you to be in the current moment. In reality, I probably need to be blindfolded every day, just so I can learn to turn my mind off.
