His pretty dark eyes sparkling with joy and laughter, Miguel bent his head and kissed him just as the camera flashed.
Epilogue
Six Months Later
“Leon just texted me. He wants to go out dancing. You want to come with us?”
Hector sat on the couch, watching baseball. He rolled his head to the side to look at his husband standing at the bottom of the stairs. “Yeah, as long as I don’t have to wear that too tight shirt you tried to get me to wear last time.”
A teasing pout on his mouth, Miguel came bouncing over to Hector and straddled his lap. “But your muscles are so pretty. I just wanted to show them off.”
Hector raised one arm and flexed. “I can show them off just fine in a shirt that isn’t about to pop at the seams when I put it on.”
Miguel rocked back in his lap and burst out laughing. “Fine! Wear your regular non-sexy shirts. I’m going upstairs to get ready.” He got up and bounced back up the stairs, already shaking his ass to the music that blared from his phone.
Hector shook his head as he watched Miguel disappear back to their bedroom. He loved that man. Loved their new two-bedroom townhome. Loved their relationship.
Their marriage worked for them. And when it didn’t, they sat down together to figure out whatever was wrong. Miguel continued to work at Frostview Dental because he wanted to. They combined the majority of their incomes, but also kept some separate for their own use. Miguel called it fun money. Hector didn’t call it anything, but he was just fine without knowing what Miguel did with every penny he earned.
Miguel cooked for them when he wanted to. Sometimes Hector gave it a go in the kitchen, but his meals were so sad compared to Miguel’s that he usually just ended up ordering pizza or Chinese food when it was his turn to provide dinner. They spent lots of time together at home or on date nights that they took turns planning. But Hector still hung out with his friends and Miguel hung out with his, and on occasions like tonight, they socialized with each other’s groups.
Hector was happy. This time last year, he would never have imagined he’d be married to anyone, let alone a man. But he was and it was the best thing that had ever happened to him. He refused to even mentally thank Santos for bringing Miguel back into his life. As far as he was concerned, they were meant to be together and they would have connected without Santos’s abuse driving Miguel back into his orbit. He didn’t know why things happened the way they did. He was just grateful to have Miguel in his life.

The Space Lounge was just as cool as the last time Miguel had come. The music was loud and a great mix to dance to, and the crowd was at that perfect level where it felt full and energetic, but not so packed you couldn’t move. This time he was there with Leon and his husband. A few more of their friends had joined them, and Miguel had persuaded Kendra to meet them there as well. Everyone was having a good time. Miguel danced with Leon for a few minutes before Hector possessively yanked him away, making Miguel laugh as Hector pretended to growl at his friend.
They weren’t popping bottles, but they’d had a few drinks. So it wasn’t a surprise when, after a while, Kendra grabbed his hand and pulled him with her to the restrooms. He didn’t mind. They’d been friends before, but after that night, they’d been even closer. The place was chill, and no one batted an eye at him being in the women’s restroom.
In front of the mirror, Miguel watched his friend refresh her lipstick. It was a deep red, a color that Miguel knew would look gorgeous against his tan skin. “You don’t have mouth herpes, do you?” he asked her once she was done.
Kendra looked at him like he was crazy. “What the hell? No.”
“Can I have that?” He nodded at the lipstick. “I’ll buy you a new one, I swear.”
Her eyebrows shot up in surprise. Then they lowered as she narrowed her eyes in calculation. “And the matching lip pencil?”
Miguel laughed at her shrewd bargaining. “Yes! Now give it.” He held his hand out, and she slapped the glossy black tube into his palm. “Thanks. I’m going to have some fun with this.”
They left the bathroom together. Miguel looked around until he found Hector near the bar holding a beer. He went up to him, leaning against his broad chest. “C’mon, hubby. Let’s go dance.”
He pulled Hector back out onto the floor. They started dancing, Miguel feeling free to get over-the-top raunchy because he was with his husband. He put his back to him, pressed his ass against his crotch and started twerking. He looked over his shoulder at Hector, who watched him with growing lust in his warm brown eyes. Miguel blew him a kiss and straightened. He switched to rolling his hips, mimicking the way he would move if they were at home and he was riding him. Hector’s arms went around his waist, holding him tight. He leaned down to whisper in Miguel’s ear.
“If you wanted to dance like this, we could have just stayed home and turned on the radio.”
A shiver ran down Miguel’s spine at the deep, husky timbre of Hector’s voice. He leaned his head back so he could look up at his husband. “This is way more fun.”
“More fun than naked dancing?”
“Naked dancing comes later.” He turned around so they were face to face and pulled from his pocket the lipstick he’d requisitioned. He slowed his movements, but kept swaying side to side as he rolled out the lip color and smoothed it onto his lips. Hector stopped moving entirely, watching as Miguel slid the lipstick across his mouth. When he was finished, he slowly ran his tongue over his lips. Hector’s eyes tracked the movement like he was hypnotized. “You like the color?” Miguel asked.
Hector swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing. “Yeah.”
Miguel put the lipstick away before he moved forward and wrapped his arms around Hector’s neck to start dancing again. Hector picked up his rhythm and their hips swayed side to side. They were moving slower than the beat of the song that played, but neither of them cared. Miguel ran his fingers up the nape of Hector’s neck, lightly scratching the back of his head with his short nails. With a wicked grin, Miguel pulled Hector down until their lips met. They kissed, rough and wild, Miguel purposely smearing the lipstick across his husband’s mouth. Hector got him back by sucking hard on his tongue and Miguel moaned into his mouth, pressing close so that his torso rubbed against Hector’s blatantly aroused cock.
Miguel eased out of their kiss, but kept his arms looped around Hector’s neck. He sucked his bottom lip between his teeth then slowly released it. “You want a lipstick stamp, papi?”
Hector’s eyes widened before he answered in a voice rough with sex and arousal. “Fuck yeah.”
