Miguel pulled his hand away and got up from the couch. “Okay, I need a few seconds to digest this. You’re basically saying you’re a repressed bisexual, and now you want to experiment with men.”
“Uh, yes on the repressed bisexual part. No on the experimenting with men. I’m not looking to hit the streets and bang any guy I think is cute. I want to be with you. And not just to fuck, in case I need to make that clear as well.”
Miguel turned away from him. “This is crazy. I’m gay, and you’ve always been my straight best friend. You can’t just change that up on me out of nowhere. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.”
Hector got up and went over to him. “This isn’t out of the blue, Miguel.”
“It’s not?”
Hector spoke to Miguel’s back. It was almost easier to get the words out this way. “You’ve felt me watching you. I’ve seen your reactions every time, even though you try to hide them. You’re confused. I understand that. I’ve been confused too. And you were just as restless as me when we shared a bed. I might as well have stayed on the couch for all the sleep I got. Because I was up every night, imagining what it would feel like to touch you.”
He put his hands on Miguel’s shoulders and gently turned him around so they faced each other. But Miguel kept his head down, still not looking at him. Hector plowed on, determined to fully express his feelings. “I want to kiss you. That’s what I want. But I’ve taken time to think about it. I understand if you need some time before you decide if that’s what you want too.”
Miguel shook his head. “I’ve been thinking about it for years.”
“And?”
For his answer, Miguel stepped forward and lifted his face. Hector softly smiled in relief before he slid a hand up to cup Miguel’s cheek. He leaned down and gently brushed their lips together, once then again and again. With each brush, their lips lingered a little longer until they finally pressed together in a real kiss. Hector pulled away slightly to check in with Miguel.
“Still okay?”
He nodded, a shaky whisper slipping into the space between them. “Yes.”
Hector moved his hand to slide his fingers into the softness of Miguel’s hair. The other he put at his lower back, bringing him closer until they touched from chest to thigh. There was still a little hesitancy in their next kiss. But Miguel’s lips parted, giving Hector permission to deepen it. He took advantage, licking into Miguel’s mouth, heat spreading low in his stomach when Miguel shyly returned the intimate caress. Miguel’s arms wrapped around his neck, and Hector squeezed him tighter, wanting to be as close as possible to this man he’d desired for so long. They stood in the middle of the living room, wrapped in each other’s arms, kissing as though that was what they’d always been meant to do.
Miguel broke away first. He pressed his forehead to Hector’s chest and sucked in a deep breath. “I can’t believe that just happened. I had a crush on you when we were teenagers. At first, I only looked up to you and saw you as a brother and my protector. Then puberty hit, and I couldn’t stop thinking about you playing fútbol with your shirt off. Whenever I came to watch you in the park, I always hoped you’d be skins.”
Hector smiled at that admission. “I couldn’t admit it back then, but I got a kick out of walking around you without a shirt. You always looked at me like I was the big man on campus. It made me feel like I was the big man on campus.”
“We’re both idiots.”
“Come here.” He went back over to the couch, tugging Miguel along with him. He sat and pulled Miguel down onto his lap. “Is this okay?”
“Yeah. Are you okay with it?”
Fingers rubbing soft circles on Miguel’s waist, Hector nodded. “I am.”
“So, what next?”
“Well, first I need you to tell me if my interest is reciprocated. Just because you had a crush on me when we were in high school doesn’t mean you have any attraction to me now. Was that kiss just to answer questions from back then?”
“Oh, there’s interest. You’ve been killing me walking around in those gray sweatpants without a shirt on.”
That comment made Hector smile again. “Then I guess next is you giving me another kiss. We sort of skipped that last time we got cozy on the couch.”
Miguel leaned down and softly pressed his lips to Hector’s. After a second, he pulled back, like he was checking that Hector really wanted to kiss him. Hector smoothed his hand up Miguel’s back and grasped the nape of his neck, pulling him close again. This time, when their lips met, there was no hesitation. And soon there were hot, panting breaths and quiet little moans. It wasn’t long before Hector was hard and Miguel was squirming on his lap.
Hector grasped him by the waist and maneuvered him around so that he was straddling him. It didn’t matter that Hector had never kissed another man. All that mattered was that finally kissing Miguel felt right. He did what came naturally, taking charge of the kiss, but easing back when he sensed Miguel wanted to lead. His hands knew what to do too. They gripped Miguel’s waist, pulling him close so their hips rocked their groins together. It was different, feeling another dick pressing against him. But Hector liked it. He more than liked it. It got him hard enough to bust out of his pants, but he didn’t think it was a good idea for them to have sex yet. This was all new to them, and he didn’t want to go too fast. He reluctantly ended their kiss.
“We should stop.”
Miguel pouted. “Don’t want to.”
“I don’t either. But that’s probably the best move for us right now.” He brushed his thumb over Miguel’s kiss-swollen lips. “We’ve waited this long. It won’t kill us to wait a week or so while we adjust to this. Is that okay with you?”
Miguel sighed and nodded, so Hector stood, swinging Miguel onto his feet.
“Go take a shower and clean it up when you’re done. I don’t want to stand in your jizz.”
