Marz chuckled as they stepped off the elevator. They headed toward the basement of the hotel, which operated as a speakeasy. Heir had always wanted to go down but didn’thave a membership. The mysterious appeal always piqued her curiosity, but she never put forth the effort to apply for a membership. For that night, she wouldn’t have to, because Marz had one.
They made their way through the dimly lit space, occupying a burgundy booth in the back of the room. The bartender wasted hardly no time coming over to take their drink order, greeting Marz by name. Marz asked what type of cocktail she wanted, and Heir admitted she preferred drinking her liquor straight up. Seemingly impressed, he ordered them a bottle of vodka for her and whiskey for himself. As he casually rattled off a list of appetizers for them to share, Heir took the time to take in his features.
Short black locs.
Naturally arched brows.
Slightly under turned coffee brown eyes.
Pointy ears.
Yeah.
Marz was easily one of the finest men Heir had ever encountered.
His hand casually gripped her thigh as the bartender walked away. Marz lowered himself and got a bit more comfortable in his seat.
“You’re beautiful,” he complimented. “I wasn’t able to take my eyes off you for too long all night.” When his nose grazed her neck, her nipples hardened as she bit down on her bottom lip. “You look even more beautiful up close.” Marz’s hand shifted inward, squeezing her thigh again. “And you smell good as hell.”
“Marz,” she muttered, gripping the back of his neck as he kissed up hers.
“Hmm?”
“Are you always this... mm... affectionate with women you don’t know?”
Marz chuckled against her cheek before kissing it. “Believe it or not, no. But it’s some’ about you. I feel like I already know you. Like you’re already mine.”
It wasn’t Heir’s intention to turn her head and make it easier for their lips to connect, but that was exactly what happened. Her body relaxed against him the second his tongue swirled around hers. She’d never been this wild and reckless before. Hell, she didn’t let men kiss her until after their fifth date. But what Marz said was true. There was something about him that had her lowering her inhibitions and her boundaries, and Marz was more than okay with that.
From the moment he laid eyes on her, Marz had claimed Heir. It was difficult waiting for the perfect moment to take her, but he knew he wasn’t going to let her leave the hotel with another man. Even if all he ended up getting was conversation and her number at the end of the night, Marz would build off that and be satisfied.
The only reason Marz allowed their lips to disconnect was because he heard the soft clatter of things being set on their table. Heir shyly put space between them as she wiped her mouth, but that wouldn’t do.
“Where you goin’?” Marz asked. “I want you close.”
“This is insane,” she whispered, almost to herself as he pulled her back to him. “I don’t even know you.”
“Then get to know me, because I ain’t lettin’ you go. You mine... now and forever.”
Heir’s pouty lips lifted into a smile as her slanted, honey brown eyes avoided his. She mumbled about how he was crazy, but obviously the peanut butter brown skinned beauty liked that shit, because she hadn’t tried to get away yet.
As the evening progressed, they tossed back one shot after another and enjoyed each other’s company. As much as Heir seemed to be hung up on the fact that they were strangers, themore time they spent together, the less she cared. Eventually, she relaxed into their chemistry and enjoyed the vibe just as much as Marz did.
An hour into their time there, the live band and singer for the evening arrived, setting an even more intimate mood. By the third set, they were both feeling their liquor and allowing their hands to become more acquainted with each other’s bodies.
When they walked upstairs, Marz was prepared for their evening to be over until Heir asked, “Do you have a room here?”
“Nah, but I can get one,” he declared, feeling the liquor more than he had while he’d been sitting down.
“Okay. I’m gonna go to the restroom. I’ll meet you in the lobby.”
Marz nodded his agreement, but he knew Heir was drunk. If not drunk, tipsy enough to be walking sideways instead of in a straight line. A part of him was sure she’d get a good look at herself in the mirror and change her mind. Still, he decided to get her a room on the off chance she drove herself to her date and needed time to sober up. Once he’d secured a suite for her, he found her rocking softly as she sat on the bench with a smile.
Chuckling, he walked over to her. Marz looked her over intently as he asked, “Are you sober, bae?”
“Sober enough,” Heir clarified as she stood, causing Marz to shake his head.
“As much as I want you, and trust me... I want you... we can’t do this if you’re not sober.”
