“So, would you be willing to meet up with me, and help me figure out the best way to call a truce with Maximo?”
I waited, gritting my teeth, fist still clenched on my lap.
He sighed loudly. “Yeah. Yeah, okay we could do that. Work on a truce. But this doesn’t mean I like you or will align with you. That shit at Mximo’s house was beyond fucked up.”
My jaw was hurting with how tight my jaw was. I tried to relax it as best as I could.
“Yeah, I know. I really fucked shit up. I have a lot to clean up.”
I really wanted to say, ‘Fuck you and your little bitch boy,’ but I knew I needed to persuade him to meet for any of this to work.
“I’ll call you in about a week and we can meet. Sound good?”
“Yeah, that’s fine. Let me know when you’re ready.”
“Yeah.” I paused wishing I didn’t have to say this part. In a calm, gracious tone I said, “Thanks, Dominic. I really appreciate you helping me out.”
Pause. “Yeah, Nico, no problem.”
Then we hung up. I grabbed a glass weight that looked like a lion and hurled it across the room, where it shattered.
???????????????????
The last week has been hell. I hadn’t been sleeping well since Leo died, but this past week was worse. I could feel myself unraveling. But I needed to keep my shit together just a little longer. I finally made the call to Dominic, and the plan was in motion. But this evening he would be dead. I sent him the location of a deserted industrial area in between our two locations. It had been Demon’s idea. He would have his men set up an hour before the meet time, so they could move in after I blasted Dominic that he was just a pawn in this game. Couldn’t wait to watch him get taken the fuck down, fuckin’ pretty boy bitch.
Before heading out, I made sure I had a bulletproof vest on. As I was strapping it on, Eliana came into the doorway of my office.
In a rushed, agitated tone, she said, “Nico, you’re gonna get yourself killed with whatever this is you’re doing.”
After finishing setting my vest on my chest just right, I walked over to her, as she started backing away. But before she got too far I slapped her across the face.
“Mind your own fuckin’ business, bitch!”
Two of my men came over and guided her away. Probably to keep me from doing more to her.
I was wired and pissed. My adrenaline was pumping through my body, and I was ready to pounce.
Once we had everything set, I made sure I had everything I needed. This couldn’t go wrong. Dominic had to die so I could go after Aria and Maximo.
I muttered out loud, “Once this shits over, I won’t even need that bitch around anymore.”
Eliana had served her purpose, but it had been useless. Don Valentino wouldn’t even help out his own daughter, that fuckin’ pussy bitch! Not that I would raise a hand to protect her either, but she was just a wife to me. Not blood. But I guess family isn’t all they crack it up to be. Fuckin’ hypocrites really.
I had four men in each of the two SUVs that I had come along. I didn’t want it to look like we were there to intimidate them. That’s what Demon and his MC brothers were there for.
When we pulled up, Dominic was standing outside his SUV, and a second SUV was there too. He had twelve men with him. Pansy bitch! But it wouldn’t be enough against the Dragons. That made me smile as I approached Dominic. I made sure to keep a distance to ensure this was casual.
I didn’t give a fuck for waiting, even though I probably should have, when I blurted out, “You really are fucking stupid.”
I smirked at him, drawing my gun. My men drew too, but so did Dominic and his men. We were all aiming guns at each other.
“Did you really think I wanted a truce with that cunt? Fuck, his bitch killed my aunt. They are both going to pay for it.”
I heard movement behind me, smiling wider.
Dominic laughed, making my smile drop and I stiffened. “We knew it was a fucking setup you dumbfuck.” Dominic smirked at me as his own men moved in closer to block him.
What the fuck was going on? Something wasn’t right. I heard the movement behind me keep moving, but the sound slowed and quieted down.
