EZRA
I’m really trying not to cry, but silent tears still slide down my cheeks. It’s not my fault; this wedding is just beautiful, and my heart is so damn full. Getting to be one of the people standing next to Graycie as she marries Snake makes the feeling of belonging, which I’ve been holding onto since Titus brought me to the clubhouse, deepen.
This is my family.
And right now, two people who mean the world to each other are getting married.
Graycie’s hand runs over her baby bump and the smile on her face is full of adoration as she looks up at Snake. Opal is next to me and practically vibrating with excitement for her best friend and brother. Titus and Sidewinder are standing tall in button down shirts and their cuts on the other side of the couple.
“You may,” Rector begins, but the rest of his words are lost as he starts to chuckle when Snake grabs Graycie, hauls her against his chest, and kisses her like he’s beyond thirsty and she’s an oasis.
Everyone around us cheers and hollers. The sound becomes even louder when Snake dips his wife and she laughs with abandon. I’m clapping and cheering, but I’m not looking at the couple.
Not anymore.
My gaze shifts to Titus to find his gray eyes already locked on me. I’m not surprised.
He’s always watching me.
Even though it should probably creep me out, that’s the last thing I feel when I can experience his gaze like a caress. His attention makes me feel safe and cherished.
Snake picks Graycie up and cradles her against his chest. “I can walk,” Graycie admonishes him, but he doesn’t listen.
He strides back down the aisle without looking back. I’m not sure who is the one in the room to break first, but the sound of our family’s laughter begins and then grows.
We’re all very aware of what Snake has in mind. The man isn’t subtle when it comes to his Old Lady.
Then again, none of the bikers around here are.
Titus steps into place next to me and I tuck my arm into his. As we walk back down the aisle, he leans down and whispers against the shell of my ear, “You better finish planning the wedding.”
I look up at him and one side of my mouth tips up. “I’m planning for spring,” I let him know.
His eyes widen and the excitement on his face is easy to see. The man has tried to talk me into a courthouse wedding multiple times, but I haven’t given in.
Honestly, I wouldn’t mind, but I want him to be celebrated and for us to have a day for us. We both deserve it and so does the love between us.
“Spring?” He narrows his eyes, his voice turning suspicious, “What else?”
I can’t help but laugh. He’s caught on.
“Spring is the only time having a building made entirely of greenery for the ceremony makes sense. Kind of like a house a fairy would live in,” my voice is casual.
He deadpans, “What?”
“I have pictures,” I tell him sweetly and bat my eyelashes at him.
Before he can agree, even though I know he will, Snake and Graycie are there looking a little disheveled and a whole lot happy. They weren’t gone long enough for anything too torrid, but her lipstick isn’t as pristine as it was before; I’ll leave it at that.
We exchange hugs and congratulations and Opal squeals when she hugs her best friend.
The joy coming off Graycie is something to witness. She keeps looking at Snake like he’s her entire world and I know he is. It’s a feeling I understand because I look at Titus the same way.
Graycie grabs my arm and gushes, “It’s picture time, but I think you should hang back a second to tell your Old Man the good news.”
With a knowing glint in her eye, she rushes off while my mouth drops open. I can’t believe she just said that.
I know why though. I’ve been putting off telling Titus about the baby for a few weeks; that was only because I read an article about the risks early on in pregnancy and have been freaking out about all the ways it could go wrong. I’d be devastated, and don’t get me wrong, I’m not sure how I would manage it, but Titus wants a baby so badly.
