“I think it’s Rita.”

Now, that is not that much of a surprise to me, but why would she do that? “Why do you think it’s her, Finger?”

“She keeps watching the other club women. I’ve been watching her, and she seems to have a close watch on Violet,” Finger throws himself into a chair and rubs his hands together.

“What makes you think it’s her when she’s watching the others?” I can’t help but ask.

“It is shifty. She’s probably making sure they are out of the way when she contacts this ZeBach or bomber.”

Cap snorts. “You can’t assume she is snitching. Honestly, Finger, you need more proof than that.”

“Cap, bring all the club women here. I’ll speak to them,” I say this so calmly and clearly that Cap knows they'd better cooperate or they could find themselves in hot water.

Fifteen minutes later the five club women, or fluff as we used to call them walk into the office and line up in front of my desk. I give them all thelookthat means don’t fuck with me.

“Don’t mess with Pres. Speak truthfully and clearly, and you have nothing to worry about,” Cap tells them as he can see theyhave a hint of nerves, but if they do as he says, then they have nothing to worry about.

Finger speaks before I say more. “I’ve been watching you, Rita, and you have been spying on the other women. Why?”

Rita stands a little straighter and looks me right in the eye as she answers Finger’s question. “I was watching Violet because I heard her speaking with someone in the pantry. She was telling them about the patrol along the north fence line. I have been trying to get proof of what she has been doing.”

Violet is shaking and starts to cry, and I mean the ugly crying with snot and all. Disgusting is what it is. “What’s going on, Violet?” I ask with a tone of steel.

“My sister has been grabbed. She is with this ZeBach man. He said he’ll kill her if I didn’t help him. But I didn’t help him. I gave him information, but it was all false information. He’s coming, and I didn’t know what to do because if he had my sister, I was worried that he may have someone else’s family member.”

I’m surprised she could say all that through the tears, but it is said with such genuine emotion that I’m not questioning she is telling me the truth.

The next hour we question all the women and allow them to get back to work when we are satisfied that they are not holding anything back from us.

All we know extra at this point is the fact that Violet’s sister is held for ransom, and Violet has fed them false leads. How long she can get away with that I don’t know. But we need to get rid of the guy and get Violet’s sister back.

Chapter 13

CILLA

As I’m walking through the common room this morning, I’m feeling tired. It is a pleasant bedroom they gave me, but it’s not like being home. I think everyone likes to be in their own bed at night.

“Cilla, where are you going?”

Turning I give Finger a smile, “Morning Finger, I’m going to help in the kitchen. I’m not one to sit around doing nothing, so I can help the ladies.”

“Oh, okay, good idea. I’m going to be out of the clubhouse for a while. But if you want me, you have my digits, so give me a call.”

“I’ll be alright in the kitchen with the ladies, and there are brothers sitting around or doing stuff so I can ask anyone, if needed. Bono is hanging around for some reason this morning too, which is getting fairly annoying.” I give Bono a look that tells him to buzz off for a while, then turn back to Finger who is squinting where Bono had been standing but has gone now. “He’s gone, Finger,” I smirk as I respond because Finger jerks back and makes out he wasn’t trying to see Bono.

“Okay, I’ll see you later, Cilla. Would you like a walk around the compound after supper? You know to stretch your legs and get some fresh air?” Finger asks with a hopeful look on his face, and I’m not sure why, but I give in and nod. “Right, I’ll see you later.”

I watch as Finger walks away, and a giggle from behind me has me turning to see Anna is standing there smiling at me. “Come on, Cilla. We need to educate you on biker men.”

Following Anna into the kitchen, I take the mug of coffee Anna hands me and take a seat at the long table. “Now, brothers in the MC are not like your everyday kind of man.” Anna starts to tell me, and I’m sipping my coffee and nodding. I notice Jo in the background prepping for lunches, and think I better hurry with my coffee and help.

Anna takes a seat, placing her coffee in front of herself, and gives Jo a look I’m not sure of, but starts to speak. “MC men are not like your everyday man. Once they see a woman who is their woman they don’t mess around. This lot here has not met the woman they are supposed to be with forever, but as soon as they see them, they will do everything they can to make sure they gether. Now, because nobody here has seen or claimed a woman they seem to be on the slow side as to taking up with anyone.”

Holding my hand up to silence her for a moment, I ask. “Anna, what the heck are you talking about?”

*She means that we see our woman, know she is the one for us, and we claim her. We don’t want months or years to have a boyfriend-girlfriendrelationship. We are all-in from the start. Finger is your man. He knows it really, but he isn’t sure what is going on. Being a woman, you are the one who needs to lead him because these thick shits here need a hand to guide them*

"Bono, are you saying I should chase him? Or I should just outright say, ‘Hey, Finger, you are my man?’ and you know that sounds really ridiculous, don’t you?”
