The biker gave her the once-over with his steely blue eyes, leaned against his Harley, and cocked his head to the left.

“Who’s asking?”

Glancing away, Angie replied, “I’m a friend of his.”

“I figuredthat.You got a name, sweet piece?”

The biker’s crude pet name outraged her, but she swallowed her indignation and said calmly,“I just need to talk with him.”

“I asked for your name.” His voice was sharp like barbed wire.

Before she could respond, a guy who looked vaguely familiar approached.

“Hey,” he said, looking at her.

“Hey …” She racked her brain trying to remember where she’d seen him.

“You knowher?” the black-haired man asked.

“She’s Crow’s chick, so lighten up, Scorpio.”

His words startled her. Was she Crow’schick? What did that even mean, and why did it make a warm glow spread through her?

“So you’re looking for Crow?”

Angie studied the man’s face, then a bolt of recognition flashed through her mind. He’s Crow’s friend—the one at Leroy’s that night.Relief flushed through her.

“Yes, I need to talk to him.”

“What the hell are all these fuckin’ badges doing here?” Scorpio asked.

“Yeah, what the fuck’s going on?” A baby-faced man with tattoos down his neck walked over to Scorpio.

Soon the other bikers who’d been standing around and talking, slowly made their way over. A few of them locked eyes with Angie, and she quickly turned away.

“What’s up?” a man with long hair asked.

“We’re trying to figure out why the fuckin’ badges are here,” Scorpio replied.

“I know,” she said softly.

Scorpio glared at her. “Know what?”

“Who’s this sweet piece, and why the fuck is she butting into our conversation?” The long-haired man said, his scowl deepening.

“She’s Crow’s chick,” the familiar one replied.

“Quit fuckin’ around, Eagle.”

“He told me the same shit.” Scorpio looked over at the glaring biker. “Aztec, did you know Crow had a woman?”

“I knew something was up with that fucker,” he replied.

The banter between the men was driving Angie insane, and the nervous tension made her jittery as if ants were crawling up and down her spine. All she wanted was to see and talk to Crow.

“Someone’s been murdered!” she cried out.

A dozen or so men stared at her.
